While I believe this is the worst possible thing Gaia could have done simply because I find shows like the The Hills to be more than just retarded... I have to look past my own dismay and accept the fact that Gaia is a vastly growing community and because of this they have several more people that work for them --and they need a guaranteed way of paying their employees.

Yes, it's disappointing that Gaia is relaying on things like a Virtual Hollywood but they still strive to make their members happy by answering petitions and working hard to improve the sight. I can't become mad at them --primarily because Gaia is a free community.

Exactly. They could charge us money for our accounts just like most other places, but they don't. Which is why I don't think people should complain over something like this. It's a priveldge, and it can be taken away if Gaia so chooses.

Precisely. It’s not like we are paying for everything that Gaia is doing. Therefore, the members have two very simple decisions to make: (1) completely ignore the new attraction and move on with their virtual lives or (2) indulge in what Gaia offers them --hey, you at least get free items out of it.

All I have to say is, Where do we go from here? It's clear that Gaia is going to the Dogs so where do we go after this? What better sites are there? There are alot of wannabe Gaia sites but they don't even make the cut!

Another thing is, We the people of Gaia, are mostly Anime lovers, Punk rockers, Goth lookers...Whatever!

You will not find even HALF of us watching MTV or doing anything related to it. We don't hang with that crowd, we like to be different and now...All of it is just about dead! Everything Gaia stood for is almost dead to the whole ******** world! @.@

About the only thing I've seen on MTV that I liked was Pimp My Ride cause, hell. Seeing a junky a** car turn into something as awesome as some of their projects kinda appeals to me.

But that is a RARE occasion still.

I have paid Gaia of MY money this month alone! I am not paying for MTV WTF!!! I can deal with the Matrix, I can even deal with your sorry excuse for a way to get more money from us ( Gaia Cash ) BUT MTV!?????? I GET ON GAIA TO GET AWAY FROM THE MTV RELATED SOCIETY!!

I think that it was nice for them to give us free items, but the bottom line to that was to bring more people in to the ad, which wouldn't be such a bad thing (it's smart, really) if it wasn't promoting this sort of show to children and young adults. It is a terrible example for how adults, or anyone, should behave. These people are on the show because they're bizarre and unnatural enough to create entertainment. They act out of what typical society finds remotely acceptable, so that creates intrigue around them. Unfortunately, good interest isn't generated.

I think Gaia should be able to advertise and promote outside material, but this was a poor choice. Kbai semi-wholesomeness.

I agree with the others who say that Gaia has the right to promote whatever they want, however, they have a target audience, and an image to maintain to keep and gain a larger audience so their future ads can receive more hits and so they can sell more from their shops. Innocent promotions like the Bee movie remain within their good image's limits.

The Hills, on the other hand, lean toward more adult content, and really, examples that I didn't think Gaia wanted to promote or have tied to their image. MTV wants to gain more of an audience, though, so I'm sure their compensation was large enough to have Gaia drop its standards to do all that bill paying and money making that some people clamour about.

Gaia should look into endorsing shows or manga like Karas and there is real money to be made there, it's a popular manga and would really make more gaian's happy.
