Ok that quest ripped me off big time!

While I believe this is the worst possible thing Gaia could have done simply because I find shows like the The Hills to be more than just retarded... I have to look past my own dismay and accept the fact that Gaia is a vastly growing community and because of this they have several more people that work for them --and they need a guaranteed way of paying their employees.

Yes, it's disappointing that Gaia is relaying on things like a Virtual Hollywood but they still strive to make their members happy by answering petitions and working hard to improve the sight. I can't become mad at them --primarily because Gaia is a free community.

Exactly. They could charge us money for our accounts just like most other places, but they don't. Which is why I don't think people should complain over something like this. It's a priveldge, and it can be taken away if Gaia so chooses.

I think that it was nice for them to give us free items, but the bottom line to that was to bring more people in to the ad, which wouldn't be such a bad thing (it's smart, really) if it wasn't promoting this sort of show to children and young adults. It is a terrible example for how adults, or anyone, should behave. These people are on the show because they're bizarre and unnatural enough to create entertainment. They act out of what typical society finds remotely acceptable, so that creates intrigue around them. Unfortunately, good interest isn't generated.

I think Gaia should be able to advertise and promote outside material, but this was a poor choice. Kbai semi-wholesomeness.

HA alright...someone who is showing their disagreement without just saying "Gaia sucks" or "Gaia is a sell=out" Thank-you!!
The hills is so funny because they try to say how real it is. Its reality alright, fake reality Tv
XDDD
people in this thread it too drama llama-y for me
These new "Hangout" thingies are an interesting new concept, you should make more, with different themes, of course. Maybe a Christmas town sort of thing.

I personally am not impressed with this Hollywood one, but I believe these Hangouts do have potential.

Don't know. I'm letting it run through. Found out if you skip to the end, you don't get the item. ;-;

I agree....And,I have to say, since Gaia is making such stupid stuff for us to 'enjoy,' Neopets is better....
Sure does beat hanging in rallies.. D:

I think people should just shut their fricken' yap and accept the free items. D:

Who really gives a ******** if you don't like it, they don't have to give you free stuff. They just do. And if you hate MTV so much, then don't get in on the event.

QUIT COMPLAINING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

It's pathetic.
Frankly I think we should be thankful for anything they give us.
I don't think I would be sad about this if it weren't for the fact that this doesn't appeal to the majority of Gaia's userbase.

Let's look at history, shall we?

The Last Mimzy = Okay. I mean, it was a really cool kids movie. I'm glad Gaia introduced this to us.
Gracie = Alright. It once again showed a movie that a few people might see, but it wasn't that big of a deal. After all, Gaia was still pretty new at the Quest deal. =3
Tsubasa = Right on the mark. This appealed to a majority of Gaia's userbase, and a ton of people really enjoyed it.
Nancy Drew = Once again. It's a kids movie, but some of the userbase (as in REGULAR users) knew the book. Heck, I didn't mind this quest at all. I found out about a movie I ended up seeing.
Scion = Yeah. A little weird, but Scion was doing a lot for publicity. I remember they did something with DeviantArt, too. And we got a fun new feature that lets us make some cool cars. <3
Magic the Gathering = Once again, on the mark. A lot of Gaia's users are gamers. Tabletop gaming is fun, and Magic is a popular TCG. I had no issues here.
Blue Dragon = Once again, on the mark. Gaia has gamers. Heck, the founding fathers ofGaia loveed games, and ever since, we've been looking forward to the wonder that is the battle system. XD
Wresting items = No comment. I don't know why Gaia decided to do this. It was sort of cool, though, because we got a large hammer. ;D
Alchemist = Yay~! I didn't mind this at all - it was actually refreshing to see a book on the Quest system.
Bee Movie - A cutesy movie, but it follows the same premise as The Last Mimzy.
Naruto = Appealed to the users. Once again, not an issue.
Golden Compass = The users didn't mind it so much! A lot of people really liked it, because they had read the book and were excited.
Pirates = Most of the users liked it.
Cinemas = The Matrix, Gattica... There's such a selection of movies, who could possibly not like any of them?

But this... this doesn't appeal the userbase at ALL. I don't think I'll appreciate that much, but...

COME ON, GAIA! I THOUGHT YOU KNEW YOUR USERS!

DX

Can I add you as my friend? Please?

You are intelligent and you know what you're talking about. As I said in a previous post, 90% of Gaia users hate MTV. This is one of the dumbest things the moderators have ever done, and they're only doing it to gain a wider user base.

heart I love you for not being an idiot. heart heart

Now, that's suicide, almost twenty million times. If anyone does that for an item, I'm ashamed of you. unless you just leave the computer while it runs and don't actualy watch it. But if you do watch it, I think I can say for all gaians, you suck.
Dont talk to any of us, anymore. talk2hand
OMG!THEY WENT AND DELETED THE WHOLE FIRST PAGE POSTS!THAT IS NOT ON....JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING OUT!i MEAN, WHY DIDNT GAIA PUT SOMETHING LESS CHEESY ON!
