I fail to see how legally there can be a Wiccan under the age of at least 17, considering the so called "Great Rite's" practices.

Some groups do the Great Rite symbolically, but the bigger point is that Wiccans rarely will initiate people under 18.

Hmm... this looks like an interesting thread to check around... While I'm not a Wiccan myself, I do like to learn stuff sto I'm not horribly wrong when debating about it.

I do however remember a wiccan I met once that flat out refused to talk to me when she heard that I wanted to learn about it but didn't want to become one. She didn't explain why, and it wasn't until months later that I found out that there are secrets that are not to be told to non-initiates, and she probably thought I was after them (which I wasn't, I respect people).

I can't help but feel like I should change that one a little. I imagine people will jump to conclusions and think FOMG LOL, EVIL SEX CULT. Which is their opinion, but I'd rather they form that opinion through actual thought instead of the typical knee-jerk reaction.

The EWOE does exist, and I know what it is. It was actually a lucky guess, but hey, I had it confirmed both in Gardner's writings and by some real Wiccans. Yay me. Also, it's not oathbound, but I'm not spreading it around since it's such a good test for whether or not you're talking to a fluff. Yes, I realize I sound like a fluff myself for being all "I know something and I'm not going to tell you what it is... nyeah nyeah" about it, but it's in Gardner's writings, you can look it up yourself if you're that curious. ^_^
As a sidenote, we might be seeing some fluffballs in here pretty soon, as I've been directing them to this thread. Get your ignorance-seeking tactical weapons out, minions!
