I believe there is definately a higher power.
I think the world can't be total coincidence. We have to be from somewhere greater than here.
I don't know if I'll ever know who that higher power is,
or even if it's a person or an energy.
But I need that faith. I know in my heart, that it exists.
When I die, I think I'll become reincarnated into another life,
until someday I reach a place in my lives where I have gained enough knowledge to ascend to a different level of conciousness.
Or, it'll be a neverending cycle...

However, I also am Jewish.
I think that if the whole reincarnation thing isn't true,
then someday the Jewish messiah will come and save me.

It's strange, isn't it?
Oh well. It's not really up to me (:

A theory is an hypothesis suported by circunstantial evidence.

You want to be Scientific? Then go and prove us that there is no God. Until then, shut your mouth.

prove there is no santa clause just cuz yu cant prove there isnt doesnt mean there is and just cuz you cant prove there is doesnt mean there isnt so overall its a dumb argument im agnostic for a reason there is not enough to prove or to disprove

I am an agnostic atheist. I do not believe in gods, but I'm a skeptic and can't be entirely certain about anything. Not even science. Who knows what scientific theory will be "proven" wrong next?

Apatheism...Which is best described by a quote from the 100s AD.

"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. I am not afraid."

I recently stumbled across something called the Raelian Movement. I am now a follower and I suggest that everyone do a little research and see how logically sound this belief is. This movement follows Atheist ideals because it does not claim there is a singular omnipotent being, and there is no afterlife.

I'd like to build upon this statement. This person is claiming that the existence of a great being is just as conceivable as the absence of one. This is a completely unlogical concept. I will explain via analogy.

If you have a jar of dice, and it has what seems to be 20 dice in it. A Christian would say there is 1 million. An Atheist would say, "It looks like about... 15? 22?" The Atheist cannot PROVE how many dice are in the jar, but logic gifts him with an educated guess. A Christian makes no educated guess when crediting a "Man in the Sky" for everything ever made in history. Let us not forget how powerful the human mind can be.

I'm a subtle blend of Deist and Buddhist.

That basically means I believe that a higher power exists, but he/she/it/them/whatever doesn't interfere with this existence. He/she/it/them/whatever created/started the universe with the big bang, but now it/they/he/she merely observes.

I also believe in reincarnation and the ability to attain enlightenment, thus achieving Nirvana. Essentially, being bad leads to reincarnation as a lesser being, being good and meditating leads to Nirvana. (Karma)

I equate Nirvana with Heaven. However, that doesn't mean I think God is there. For all I know, the "higher power" is an alien from another universe.

In conclusion, I'm basically a relatively-secular deist-buddhist.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the left-facing swastika (卍) is a sacred symbol in Buddhism? It represents "eternity," "all," and "universal harmony."*

*Universal harmony is also known as dharma.

Otaku is an insult. Call me akiba.
Oorah! Semper Fi! Carry on!

卍 I'm a Buddhist. Swastikas are sacred symbols meaning "universal harmony." 卍
I am an Atheist full blown to I never believed in god and I went to church a few times they couldn't convert me. Anyway I just thought if you can give me proof of this "God" then I will admit I was wrong. No one has yet to show me proof so I am never changing.

They're both looking at the same jar, yes? They can both see it? Why would the Christian say there's a number totally exceeding the number they can see?

The Christian in your analogy would only say there are one million dice if it indeed did appear to them that there were one million dice. (And perhaps it did.) Point is, Christians aren't just pulling the concept of god out of their asses. They believe because it appears to them that god is real.

When considering your jar of dice, it is a jar that appears to have a different number of dice in it depending on who is looking, and what direction they are looking from. And their understanding of the concepts "jar" and "dice".

I am a Christian. I attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am very happy and secure in my beliefs. If we could prove 100 percent without a doubt against anything, there would be no hope. Faith couldn't exist then. I am so grateful for the Gospel and Heavenly Father's love for me. I am so grateful for the Restoration and modern day Prophets! I know these things are true. heart
