What has God done for you...that you could not do for yourself?

Created the heavens and the earth; sacrificed His only son.

I guess it doesn't matter that Scientists have proven the Big Bang Theory and it really wasn't a being in the sky that poofed it into existence out of nothing?

Dr. John C. Mather won the Nobel Prize for it.

Correct - This does not matter, unless of course youre somone that takes the creation story literally.

Well considering he said that God created the universe I'm assuming he does which is why I said it.
Im gonna go out on a limb here and assume Lucky isnt a Christian Creationist. So you dont think god could create the universe through the mechanism of the big bang?

I posted that 'cause he stated that he thought God created the universe..I was simply posting what I did because I believe otherwise and then sourced it because people always ask. If I believed in God and that he created the universe through the Big Bang I would have said so..but did I? No, so why are you asking me?

That's fine if he's not I was simply posting what I thought back at him with what he gave me in his first post.
I don't know - maybe everything, maybe nothing. :/

That doesnt makes sense, youre effectively saying my question would only be valid if youd already answered. Surely this defeats the entire purpose of asking, no?

No..I do not think God could have created the universe through the Big Bang Theory rolleyes Happy? I don't believe in God at all and so when I post information about a scientist proving the Big Bang theory I would have hoped you would have known that. Generally when I give my opinion AGAINST God creating the universe while providing SCIENTIFIC proof that he didn't...it means I don't believe in God.

Sorry you didn't catch that and sorry if I didn't specify enough and sorry I thought it pointless to answer your question in the first place. confused
I was never supposed to live. I do
I was never supposed to walk. I can.
I was never supposed to speak. I can
I was never supposed to sit upright. I do.
I was never supposed to feed myself. I do.
I was never supposed to stand. I can
I was never supposed to crawl. I can.
I was never supposed to hold a pencil. I can.

and the list goes on and on. Great is my God, and there is no other.

The problem is science proving the big bang does not immediately disprove god. If one were to set before you the theory that god used the big bang to create the universe fails only to occam's razor, and not anything your source proved. If anything, your source would in a way confirm the theory.

Not disputing the lack of belief in god, just saying you're not disproving anything by proving the big bang is how it happened.

I guess it doesn't matter that a Catholic priest proposed the Big Bang Theory (and got an award and the praise of Albert ******** Einstein for it)?

I realized that I don't believe in only ONE god, and in fact believe that there are multitude of entities that can be called gods. I also believe some of these are worthy of worship. Some of them I don't feel are worthy, but other people do. And I'm not going to fault them their choice in godform. I also won't blame anyone who chooses not to worship a godform.

Just curious; are you a Chaote/chaos magician?

The sole purpose of my question was to intimate to you that one cannot rule out the hand of god behind such mechanisms as the big bang, so it would be:ahem: foolish to wield such a theory as evidence against the theory proposing that creation is the work of god.

What has God done for you that you could not do for yourself?

As you said, it's a simple question, and accordingly simple shall my answers be.
God, the Lord, has given me:
- life
- a human body
- a healthy one, at that
- a believing soul
- a wonderful world to live in
- a critical mind that despite all doubts strives to not question the Lord's ways
- love for the Lord
- awe and fear of God
- the will to worship Him
- the will to succumb to His own will
- gratefullness
- peace of mind
- an impaired hearing (it might sound strange to some, but I'm truly grateful for that too)
- purpose
- shelter in danger
- hope in despair, especially when I would not listen to anybody else
- trust in fear
- comfort in sadness
- loving parents
- enough worldly possessions to never need
- yet not enough to go to my head
- forgiveness of my sins
- eternal life
- ... (I could continue but I think I have to draw the line somewhere.)

And he did so even though I was and remain unworthy of His grace.
He judges where I go after death.

Where are you going?

I'll say I believe that there is a creator God and even if it CAN break the rules of the natural world, it chooses not to. Which is why I only dispute the science when it starts 'disproving god' since it can't.
just like you cant prove god, why, because a book told you so? Theres books out there with sparkling ******** vampires, who people tend to be flocking in masses and worshipping all the same, does that mean there are actual sparkling ******** vampires? no. What im saying, is that you potentially have the strength of god withing yourself. Stop looking on the outside, start looking on the inside. Be your own crutch, pull your head out of your a**, and you'll realize, you can do for yourself what your "god" has done for you.
Oh My Master

And these are good things why?
I hope that wasn't linear either 'cause otherwise theres quite a bit of regression going on!

Two things.

Who invented the Big Bang Theory?

Science has really proven and unfalsifiable deity wrong?

Edit: Damn, im slow on asking question number one.
