Welcome to Gaia! ::

Aye, and their message is speading rather rapidly as well. That's my goal, to spread the Project to as much people as possible. And to all the people who I've talked, they've all agreed, even though they aren't /b/ tards or those who go to the site that must not be named, the CoS must be taken down.

I agree. I've read Dianetics; it honestly makes no sense at all. Heck, even fundamental Christianity is better than the CoS because at least they don't try to hunt down and maim their enemies.

Anonymous is a mixed blessing. They defeated Hal Turner, and I have no doubt Anonymous will not grow bored with Scientology and most likely be fairly successful, but at the same time, I know Anonymous would attack Gaiaonline without hesitation, and have attack someone's personal Zelda Forums, and several other somewhat innocent people(Are you Rex enough for Tech support?) , or at least mildly undeserving of what happened to them.

I predict that like many of the vigilances gangs in the Wild West, Anonymous will do something they shouldn't have done, and law enforcement to nail them on all the other things they've done over the years, including what most people would consider good things.

Anonymous attacks whoever they see fit. If one annoys or threatens Anonymous, Anonymous will take corresponding action. Anonymous is neutral.

And 99/100 victims are deserving. The 100th one? Done for the lulz.

'Gaiafag' or '/b/tard', we all agree that Scientology is doing something wrong.

Just remember, kids: The right to free speech can't be taken from you. If you stoop to the level of Scienos and try to remove it, you lose your own rights to it.

Is that supposed to be humorously contradictory? Because it sure doesn't look like it was meant to actually address my concerns and issues with this development.

You know what you sound like?

A scientologist.

Of course I'm not trying to address your concerns. Anonymous is doing what should have happened a long time ago. Of course the "rights" of the scientologists are being trampled. Those scummy ******** don't deserve anything less.

Look at what they've done: threatened death, violence, slander, and frivolous lawsuits against the detractors of their "church".

These people make their "followers" swear to serve the church for a million years in order to catch a ride on their shiny little boat. This isn't freedom of religion, this is madness and exploitation!

Besides, if they really want to believe it, let them. They're not mindless cattle or expendable commodities, however, so respect them. To that end, Anonymous has made all the works of scientology available, free of charge.

This battle is against the RTC. ******** the upper echelon. Greedy bastards ought to be shot.

I'm waiting for the next wave, myself, to help end this "religion" and free the slaves of David Miscavige.

ololz. I sure am glad I live in a country where criminals have no guaranteed rights or protection of their freedoms, and the average citizen has both the full legal and moral ability, and authority, to deny those of other people! That sure doesn't sound like tyranny when any unelected or unappointed schmuck can decide that my rights are suddenly null and void whenever they take a fancy to it.
Screw civil liberties, m i rite?
Average?

If you'd been paying attention, you'd understand what's going on.

GB2/bed/, kid. The adults are busy making the world a better place to live in.
Scientologists believe heaven is like Bush Gardens, if you don't get sent to Venus, of course.

Last time I checked, Anonymous didn't have any power or authority vested in it to carry out these juvenile attacks. It's just some chuckleheads deciding to antagonize other chuckleheads in a way that they really don't have any right to do.

You are right about one thing, though. You really aren't trying to address my concerns.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

If we don't have the authority, then how are we doing this, and getting away with it?

Might makes right, kid. Doesn't matter if it's Beirut, D.C., or Scientology.org.
I thank you for exposing the extreme ethical integrity and depth of the whole situation.
Truly, you have only the best interest of others at heart.
Vryko,

I would bet that if a city tried to cut down on spray-paint vandalism by making it a felony and hunting down and grilling every person seen carrying paint out of Home Depot, all they'd do is force the taggers to get smarter.

This too shall pass. So did the 7chan /i/nvasion of Gaia, by the way - you remember the shitting dicknipples, yes? Look, the fundamental thing about vandals is that they eventually grow up.

As for the Church of Scientology, they're entitled to believe what they will, but they're not entitled to harass their detractors, nor commit tax fraud, nor abuse their followers, etc., etc. This doesn't justify the e-vandalism; but it makes it a lot easier for me to stomach.
Sorry to put a c-c-c-combo breaker on the debate, guys, but....

-UPDATE -

New press release and vids on first post.

Actually, no. I was lucky enough to not read a lot of threads at the time.

Which is my point. What I can't really stomach is the attitude some people take.
Oh, don't worry. Gaia will have a chance to bask in the nuclear fire that is Anonymous. This is good for lulz, but Gaia can wait while we clean house on the Scienos.

And after reading the latest release, I feel vindicated.
This just in: Epic raid

ALSO! IRL RAID ON CoS, Orlando, Florida on Saturday, February 2nd!! See the above video's description for detals!

According to whose standards? Oh, that's right, Anonymous decides who's deserving and who's just fine! eBaumsworld leeches bandwidth from SomethingAwful? Oh, that's just EPIC LULZ; c'mon Goons, lighten up! Someone does the same thing to a chan? ZOOMJ DIE IN A FIRE! Furry? GTFO. Have any kink or belief that /b/ doesn't like or doesn't understand? YOU DESERVE TO BE INVADED!

Anonymous is worse than vigilantes. I can't expect the slightest degree of altruism from the "Internet Hate Machine", a group that sets itself above the law time and time again because it's (in their eyes) funny to see people you don't like get hurt. /b/ thinks it's going to win the Information war by acting like a bunch of spoiled children? Operation Clambake has been operating for a decade. alt.religion.scientology has been operating even longer. These are places where reasoned discussion on the issues has taken place, and where the true colors of Scientology have been shown, time and time again. All without a single illegal attack against a site - well, at least not from those against Scientology. So suddenly the Information war is going to be "won" by a bunch of people with the collective mentality of Bonobo apes, shrieking and rubbing their crotch over whatever niche of the Internet they can vandalize first? Just like violent protesters, /b/ discredits whatever cause it attaches itself to.
