Welcome to Gaia! ::

I've heard a good bit about Operation Reconnect from quite a few places. I have to say free Internets for a year to the Anons that came up with it!
You should see the ex-Scientologist's boards. They're already working on what they want to say and people they want to reach out to during Op Reconnect. Should be powerful stuff.

*grins* Very nice! xd

... even though I must grumble, good-naturedly, about now getting that stuck in my head. Good job! *wanders around the forums humming it* blaugh
Does this mean the Anons on Gaia are now bored with the fight?

No. We've still got March 15th coming along. Of course, the parodies about Scientology is for our own enjoyment, the laughs and the lulz.

Sorry, it's just been a long weekend and the seeming cessation of activity here got me down...

(also I figured it could use a bump redface )

For those who want to learn more and get involved:

I'll make sure to take some videos at the Sydney Protest on March 15th and post the links if this thread is still around
Another link to investigate:

Ex-Scientology Kids

I read some of the stories in here. They are SAD. I had a lump in my throat for most of the time I was reading. If this is the real face of how the Co$ treats kids, Anonymous is right on.

No actually Gaia's anons have better things to do than use Gaia, which frankly sucks.

We've just been checking in and watching.
I'll say this-- everyone who's saying cybercrime is not the way to fight CoS, tell me the alternative way.

What? Information war? Government investigations? Well, gee, I thought they were paying off the government...

Yes, other programs have been more relaxed in their approach to try and take down CoS, and so far they've done jack s**t. I say Anonymous is at least doing better by seeking a method that has more potential to work. They need to find a way to get the RTC on something they can't dodge.

The alternative was demonstrated on 2/10. Massive protests (which from all indications the attendance worldwide was over 9000-and that was thousands more than any other protest against the Co$ than ever before).

The intent is to demonstrate to the public that the Co$ has committed and continues to engage in immoral and criminal acts (EG the RPF, activities undertaken by the Guardian's Office and Office of Special Affairs in order to silence critics AKA Fair Game, the Introspection Rundown, disconnection, publicly claiming a non-existent compatibility with other religions due to the Xenu story, and a host of other atrocities).

Above all, the idea is to inform people of the side of Scientology that the Co$ doesn't want people to see. With all the information, they will hopefully make an informed decision on whether to support Scientology or not, instead of rushing into blind allegiance to the 'church'.

The truth about the hypnosis, fascist behaviors and strong-arm tactics used so often in selling and using Scientology 'tech' needs to be spread to everyone on the freakin' planet; Co$'s claims against psychiatry and psychology need to be carefully evaluated and will likely be rendered groundless; and people need to be warned that Scientology destroys families through disconnection at the exact same time they claim to bring families together.

See Jenna Miscavige Hill as one example; look at www.exscientologykids.com for many gut-wrenching examples of the above.

That the government was infiltrated by Co$ is true; documents uncovered in a '77 raid on one of the 'churches' pretty much spelled it out. Whether this has continued is unknown, but hopefully another FBI raid can be undertaken in the course of an investigation to gain additional documentation of illegal activities.

An investigation into Scientology's illicit activities can be conducted by the Senate; write your House reps and Senators and demand a thorough investigation into Fair Game (which may count as racketeering along with other activities), the Rehabilitation Project Force (which could be condemned as slavery), the surreptitious arrangement with the IRS that gave them tax-exempt status in 1993, and why nobody else in this nation can get such broad relief from all tax burdens (which means they will owe a shitload of back taxes if it is revoked and may eliminate their financial assets).

Activism, my friend. Pure, run 8 activism.
Indeed, indeed. I think it's just really silly for a lot of people in this thread to condemn Anonymous for the things they do for lulz and dismiss the serious potential they have right now to take down RTC. Yes, organizations exist to try and do something about this.

But Anonymous is huge. Anonymous is Legion. Anonymous can put together truly huge protests and get numbers for support.
I will never condemn Anons for going for lulz. If they're breaking the law, I will call the specific Anons who do so on it; but legal, peaceful lulz are fine by me.

I'm glad Anonymous is so big; it must be straining the resources of Co$ to the breaking point to try and bring them down and harass them. It's like trying to bring sea level down by drinking the ocean, or digging away a mountain with a spoon.

It was a perfect launch for the campaign. We showed them that not only are our numbers great, but so is out technological power. It showed them to take us seriously. Then soon after we materialized ourselves at their door en masse.

Other programs were just that, simply organized programs, with tallied membership and the lot. Its takes an uprising of a hivemind such as Anonymous to take down such an organization.

Now a information war by the most unexpected of internet superpowers is taking place. Anonymous could be anyone anywhere, anytime. In my ground work I have before come across an area where Anonymous had sticken prior to me, considering it was a small bookstore in an airport terminal, this just goes to show the true power of the internet forces.
YEAH, It's GREAT!!
