I guess that depends on the culture you're from. For me I can't find any more suitable method to respond to extremely stupid posts. What I mean is that verbal abuse is meant to break down unjustified confidence, becuase if people get overconfident, they'll gang up and swarm anything like locusts. Let's say you don't do anything about a locust problem, and your farm attracts locusts, do you try to fight them in some way, or do you just move from the farm?

Usually it doesn't break down confidence in someone who's already posting those things though, it just makes them angry.

I think everyone should have confidence... it is always justified. That's kind of a moot point.
