I'm with you on the first part. Its just not that I'm an unbeliever its just that the idea of an almighty kind god seems absurd with the way this world turned out. If I find some proof that he might exist then I'll post it... But sadly none so far....

I'm with you on the first part. Its just not that I'm an unbeliever its just that the idea of an almighty kind god seems absurd with the way this world turned out. If I find some proof that he might exist then I'll post it... But sadly none so far....

And no one will, because in all aspect, he truly could not have a manifested being. People always refer to him with human characteristics and human emotion and faults, and yet they also claim in the same breath how flawless this 'creator' is.

Humanity in itself needs an excuse for their faults. And creating an entity that one cannot disprove nor prove plays very well into peoples' hands.

I think faith is needed for some people its like a security blanket, but religion's are now (and have been) exploited as a means of getting more money and establishing social 'Norms' as a mean to help influence or control the way we live our lives.
Personally I am Nihilist, though if you presented me with indisputable scientific proof then I might be willing to change my outlook on the view of 'God/Gods(and Goddesses). In till then i will continue to believe we are just a minute random occurrence in a massive universe.
Faith or not faith live a self rewarding life, we are truly small in the universes eye and short lived enjoy it.

God is a very debatable subject. Personally, I am Agnostic. I do not believe in the idea of there being a supreme god and the idea that God does not exist. There is no evidence to prove either opinions. I am leaning more towards the astheist side as I do not believe in heaven and hell and one person controlling everything. Why are there people starving, abused, and dying while other people have complete and total luxury? I don't think a god would do that to us, but then again, I do not know. ninja

I believe there is a god. I believe I don't NEED to belong to any religion to believe in him/her. Looking for the "RIGHT" religion isn't a priority for me right now.

But believe it or not people (who ever believes) need something to believe. The Bible keeps people in line more or less.
If it wasn't for religion, the world would be going under more chaos than it already is.

Perhaps he is not omnipotent. Perhaps he is leaving humans to our own devices as a test. Perhaps he does already interfere plenty enough, but not with everything. Why would he give us all a perfect, conflict-lacking life if he were testing us for heaven and hell?

The gods I believe in are neither omnipotent nor completely benevolent. I also do not believe in a heaven or hell. Not all deities are like the Christian God.

Here is how you may know that God exists - simply and absolutely!

If I would ask you: "Is there a way to the sun without going through its light?" - How would you respond?

The answer is so obvious that a response would most likely be an shrug of some sort.

Common knowledge is that light is symbollic of knowledge. We refer to the dark ages because knowledge was lacking - or we want someone to throw light on a subject we are not familiar with.

In view of this, consider the sun - it's total light! representing 'total knowledge'. Only God has total knowledge.

God uses signs and symbols - as do we - in order to communicate to all regardless of language. Consider the following facts.

Consider - what would planet earth look like without the sun:
There would be no grass, no plants, no trees, no birds, no animals, no people, in short no flora or fauna nor the things that people produce like tools, roads, buildings, furnishings, cars, radios, televions, phones etc. etc.

Thus without the sun - nothing!!! - With the sun everything is possible!!!

The sun is therefore incomprehensible in its working - just like God.

To be more precise, it is sunlight and heat that make everything possible as they are here on earth while the sun is some 95 million miles away.

Sunlight is the sun's 'offspring'.

The Bible is the only book that identifies with this truth.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for 'signs', and for seasons, and for days, and years; Genesis 1:14

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are 'not yet done', ... Isaiah 46:9-10

About 700 years after that prophetic word a man walked the earth by the name of Jesus Christ. He said that he is the Son of God (offspring of God) and is the light of the world and no one comes to God without going through Him!

Okay dude how is the sun like God? What if God dont exist then what?? You are a complete believer to God. But what about the proof? Your just saying a bunch of mumble jumble about how the sun and God are the same.

There is no proof to whether God exists or not.
I personally believe in God, but not in an uptight way like most people assume Christians are.

I still read vampire books. I still swear. I still make-out with my boyfriend. I believe that God created all of us, and that he does love all of us. But I do not believe that there are certain things you have to do in order to go to heaven. I believe that if you know God, and love God, and seek forgiveness and understand of Him that you will be fine. Of course, when you love someone, you don't want to do anything that makes them sad. That's what God is saying. He says if you love me, you will NOT murder people, you will NOT steal from people. It's not a rule. For example, when you are in a relationship, it isn't a rule not to kiss someone else, but because you love your signifigant other, you refrain from kissing someone else because you have no desire to hurt them and you really dont even want to kiss someone else. That is like God. Once you love him, you wont want to kill someone else. God is love. Kill is hate. You can't love God and be a murderer.
