This is the question that's always boggled me.
I'm not really sure...where is the proof? Don't we have other theories? Scientists have the big bang, and then Christians have God. We may only find out if God is real in 2012.

Religion is a money making tool that gives people s**t loads of cash.
It is in the economy.

Have you ever read the Bible and realize how utterly stupid it is?
"Man 1: OH HAY, I CAN TALK TO ROCKS!
Man2: R-really?
Man1: YUH, YUH, SEE~
Rock: OH HAY~
Man2: :0
Man:1 biggrin
Man2: I'm, lyk, thirstyyyyy
Man1: ME TOO
Rock: :0
Man2: ..
Man1: HAHA, ROCK~ <stabs rock>
Rock: OOOHHH~ <water come out>"

And, no, I do not believe in a "god."

You made me laugh. rofl
God exists if you believe he does.
My opinion? No.
I believe in God, though not the way Christians do. I have my own little theory of what he is.

Here is how you may know that God exists - simply and absolutely!

If I would ask you: "Is there a way to the sun without going through its light?" - How would you respond?

The answer is so obvious that a response would most likely be an shrug of some sort.

Common knowledge is that light is symbollic of knowledge. We refer to the dark ages because knowledge was lacking - or we want someone to throw light on a subject we are not familiar with.

In view of this, consider the sun - it's total light! representing 'total knowledge'. Only God has total knowledge.

God uses signs and symbols - as do we - in order to communicate to all regardless of language. Consider the following facts.

Consider - what would planet earth look like without the sun:
There would be no grass, no plants, no trees, no birds, no animals, no people, in short no flora or fauna nor the things that people produce like tools, roads, buildings, furnishings, cars, radios, televions, phones etc. etc.

Thus without the sun - nothing!!! - With the sun everything is possible!!!

The sun is therefore incomprehensible in its working - just like God.

To be more precise, it is sunlight and heat that make everything possible as they are here on earth while the sun is some 95 million miles away.

Sunlight is the sun's 'offspring'.

The Bible is the only book that identifies with this truth.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for 'signs', and for seasons, and for days, and years; Genesis 1:14

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are 'not yet done', ... Isaiah 46:9-10

About 700 years after that prophetic word a man walked the earth by the name of Jesus Christ. He said that he is the Son of God (offspring of God) and is the light of the world and no one comes to God without going through Him!

Then spake Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: John 8:12

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3

(Remember the question posed at the onset?)
"Is there a way to the sun without going through its light?"

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. John 14:6

No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him. John 1:18

(The sun is hidden behind its light)

I and my Father are one. John 10:30

God the Father - Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit are three in ONE just like the sun consists of sun - sunlight and heat yet we have only one sun. One sun - One God.

Okay dude how is the sun like God? What if God dont exist then what?? You are a complete believer to God. But what about the proof? Your just saying a bunch of mumble jumble about how the sun and God are the same.
God exists everywhere. The universe is God.
If there's scientific proof, then okay.
If not, I have to say I don't quite believe that there's a guy out there controlling our fates and whatnot. :/

So what exactly is your theory? Thats what I would like to read.
There is no evidence that such a being exists. However one cannot attain evidence for the non-existence of a being. Because of this I find it rational for myself to assume there is no God, much like I assume that unicorns do not exist. However I do not claim any form of absolutely certain knowledge on the subject of such a beings existence, no one can.

In my reality he is bullshit, in some other person's reality he is totally cool and wears kilts and whatnot. I don't care.

Well, if God made us in his image, that means God has to be a soul (since souls are the only thing that can get into "heaven" ) If God always was and always will be, then that means souls are much like energy and matter. Since we're all "his children" that means his soul must be able to split into many different parts and go into us; thus, making us all linked (which is also how "soul mates" could be defined, if you believe in such things). As long as he's constantly dividing his soul by two and other already released souls by two, then the souls will never reach zero and thus will never have a shortage. So he's not a person, but a thing. Of course, to believe my theory you must also believe in souls. So it has Christian beliefs, but still isn't how Christians view God.
if he doesn't exist who created the world and who would hve invented humans huh? but u do have a good point. i guess u just have feelings on if u believe or not

Who makes the world? Perhaps the world is not made, perhaps it simply is, has been, will always be there... A clock without a craftsman.
