Psalms and Proverbs are awesome. They teach good decent people how to properly hate other good decent people. Praise the Lawd~!

I can cherry pick too, Rolito...

Proverbs 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Nice guy, that lord.

...and let's not forget such wrathful little ditties as Psalm 137

🎵Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is the one who repays you according to what you have done to us. Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.🎵

Yay, murdering children for revenge!

you also have to remember the bible was written by men not by God himself. So yes there is bound to be messed up parts in it as well

Men in a time when attacking (or at least violently shunning) your neighbors was advantageous. It's not like laws declared all people equal back then, let alone were extremely well enforced or investigated.

It's almost as though men were all that was involved in the bible in the first place, isn't it? stare

So either god was to lazy/ didn't care enough to correct it, or was negligent with the word's dictation in the first place.

actually the bible was written many years after Jesus died. there for how can he correct? Thing with the bible is not just to read but study deeply into it and pray for an understanding. Then you will have the wisdom to make a correct out of an incorrect statement

Well actually you're half wrong. The New Testament was written after Jesus' death. The old testament was written before that. And thats assuming Jesus actually existed in the first place (there is no evidence to suggest that was the case outside of a series of third hand accounts written many [MANY] of years after the alleged events took place. But that aside, you should reread what you said because you basically just said God isn't powerful enough to correct the bible.

Thought this god of yours was omnipotent? That suggests the god can do anything at all, including correcting ancient text accounts and appearing in person to set the record straight so that nobody would need the ancient text accounts in the first place.

Unless of course the god is more like imaginary, and the book was written by human beings who thrived on confirmation bias, in which case the whole thing makes a lot more sense.

That being the case, how can you know if any of it is authentically of a divine origin?

Actually no. The Bible as you know it is a compilation of writings that span centuries, written by several different cultures with several different sets of beliefs.

"Pray for an understanding"? So... brainwash yourself into submission, until you stop feeling the cognitive dissonance?

Whether or not you are able to make excuses for the many glaring problems in the Bible, that doesn't make the problems go away.

he can not change what's been written but he can change the meaning in your heart

I didn't realize you knew god well enough to know his intent and i didn't realize you thought he was so weak and unpowerful that he can't change his own book.

I think you just earned a one ticket way to hell for that
