You're telling me you honestly believe that ONE single celled organism can - by way of descent with modification - can eventually create other organisms that have different genetics. That these organisms can become so different in such a short time that they can't even procreate with other organisms? How can ONE organism with a single cell create such a vast variety of creatures in such a short period of time?

Evolution is a very gradual process and was allowed millions upon billions of years to occur. I don't know what your definition of "short" is but I would wish to know it. Also, just because you can't believe it doesn't mean it isn't true. People of the past couldn't believe that the Earth revolved around the Sun. Did that make it false? Not at all.

Say what? Your petty 'arguments' are refuted so you whine about people not liking God? I would love for there to be a Deity, I'm in no way against the idea of YHWH... You are just failing to make an argument.

I gave you secular and Biblical proof.

You state that macroevolution and transitional fossils don't exist - wrong on both points. And Genesis' order of created "kinds" contradicts observed reality.

You do realize we're talking about billions of years here, correct? How is that a "short period of time"?

Yes, I do realize that this is BILLIONS of years. "Short period of time" refers to the overall age of the universe compared to the age of the earth.

. . . And? Billions of years of gradual evolution doesn't work for you?

The Earth has been called 'middle-aged' planet wise before, I really don't see how your 'comparison' is relevant.

The Universe is put around 13.73±0.12 where the Earth is around 4.3 billion. What part of these are short?

Moving the goalposts, essentially. He gets called on his failure, and attempts to deflect criticism by moving the metaphorical goalpost. In this case, he compares the age of the Earth to the age of the universe as a whole, hoping that it means something.

Ah thank you. I should've realised that sweatdrop
You are just looking for someone to attack. It's not going to be me anymore. Have fun without a target.

We're not attacking you, we're attacking your argument. Hopefully you shall see that evolution is indeed a fact (at least until some kind of better theory with evidence is provided) as well as the fact that your arguments can be applied elsewhere. Realize that your arguments can be applied to other things or that they can be generalized across rather than exclusive to things like Christianity.

You still have to present a case for your claim. God spoke scientific truth, you say? I, at least, want you to elaborate on that statement. I'm not aware of any scientific discipline that arose through direct divine intervention.

The Big Bang - a spontaneous explosion creating everything.
The Bible's version - God spoke everything into existence.
Genesis 1:1

It's scientific fact that the earth was covered in a lot of water. (And this water was red because of iron in it).
Genesis 1:2

The Cambrian Explosion - Massive amounts of fossils in the fossil layer shows the sudden existence of sea life
The Bible's version - God created the seas and made them teem with life.
Genesis 1:20

Science - 575 million years ago, there was also the sudden existence of fully formed animals - no transitional species like Darwin suggested. No proof of macro evolution.
The Bible's Version - God created the animals that walk the earth.
Genesis 1:24

The Earth - its round and it's in space.
The Bible's version - Isaiah says the world is a sphere suspended on nothing.
(Give me some time with this one and I'll PM the scripture reference to you.)
This just proves you don't know what you're talking about. The Big Bang theory was created by a Catholic priest! Many Christians have contributed to science. Do you get that?

ferret was arguing that the Judeo-Christian God gave people scientific facts and thus gave us things like the Big Bang Theory so there is nothing that you're really arguing against there at all. However, ferret's conception of evolutionary theory seems false and misconstrued.

None of us have called you an idiot, stupid, dumb, said your mother is fat, etc. All of these are attacks. However your arguements are what we're "attacking" so to speak. You make countless claims and have no evidence to back a single one up. You also don't have an understanding of science. If you did then you would know that the Big Bang Theory was created by a Catholic priest and that many Christians have contributed to science.

I dislike intellectually dishonest people regardless of their religion, race, sexual orientation, age, or country of origin. If you don't want people to attack your arguments then back up your claims and do some bloody research..

*Coughs* Read Kimaru's post, he was claiming the Bible accurately portrayed scientific facts that weren't even 'around' until recent centuries.
