How about the Catholic schools run by Catholic parishes who have nuns teaching?

You are clutching at straws, man.

But I thought you said women aren't supposed to teach according to the bible.

The Catholic Church is putting women into teaching positions.

Either you are wrong, or they are wrong here.

"No, you're clutching at straws, man."
"Not uh!"
"Uh huh!"

Really. Is this how a real debate goes? Goodness. The fall of ED is nigh.

Why are these female teachers legitimate exceptions to the rule?

That's what I was wondering.

Regarding a degree of ministry according to women; the Bible contains many accounts of women in places of authority in varying lengths. If anyone disagrees, I can provide a list of many (being throughout the O.T. and the N.T.).

I would make the point that just because the Catholic Church put it in the Bible doesn't make it God's Word, but you would say "Yes it does!" and never listen, thusly it's moot.

Most mainstream Protestants, if not all, will also agree that said verse is "God breathed." Not to say that this proves that it is in fact "God breathed" or whatever dumb term you wanna use. I am merely saying that it's not an issue for most Christians.

To paraphrase Paul, "In my words, not God's, yadda yadda." He puts this in a LOT of his letters.

I will point out, however, that, as someone mentioned... Your nuns. Nuns go against that verse. Meaning... If you agree with that verse, you disagree with nuns... Meaning you disagree with your system of religion... My my, what a dilemma.

I fail to see how a woman living a life of penance in chastity, poverty, and obedience under the authority of male Church officials goes against said verse, especially in the case of the cloyster orders.

Any denomination that allows a woman anything is a fluffy bunny Christian.

1 Timothy 2:11
Let the woman learn in silence, with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to use authority over the man: but to be in silence.

You allow nuns to teach, yes? Therefore, your denomination is a fluffy bunny Christian denomination. Hello, marshmallow man.

For the record. I'd like you to see the bolded parts.

A) This clearly has to do with religious leadership. Nuns technically aren't in a position of religious leadership.

B) Even when nuns are teaching, they are teaching children.

Well, the lot is insinuated by me. When he starts in on a certain tilt using personal pronouns a lot, I infer he's saying, "In my words".

However, he actually did say it in... 1 Corinthians 7:10, he specifies the Lord - "To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord):" But in 1 Corinthians 7:12, he says "To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord):".

i don't nessecarilty agree with gay marrage but still a good christan is accepting of people wether they are gay and married or not

A) These clearly say that a woman in church should NOT teach. Nuns, being female, that teach are obviously breaking this Paulian command.

B) Women are to be silent. Females in the Catholic Church are not.

I might give an argument on this. However, I wouldn't say that two verses are "a lot."
