I've heard so much bashing of Christian Conservatives lately and I would like to set a few things straight on this issue.

NOT all feel the exact same way.

I am as Christian & conservative as you get, I am 100% against Obama and his plans for our country.

but when it comes to Gay Marriage........this is my view

I am not gay, I don't understand anything that is "gay" and at the same time I don't give two hoots if gay people want to marry each other. I find nothing in scripture that tells me to STOP people froming doing something that is against "MY" personal belief.

Call Crazy....

but I don't believe it's any of my Business what other adults want to do and choices they want to make.

If I lived in California would I have voted to Ban?

NO, I could never imagine to tell another human being how to live...my code of conduct is just that "MY CODE" not others

WWJD......

I could never see Jesus going around and forcing his will on people or putting people in jail...I see the man at the well with Mary, I see compassion, NOT an IRON fist of terror & destruction.

I kind of wonder why you're concerned about bashing of Christian Conservatives in this particular thread, but I do agree with you on gay marriage.

I'm completely ashamed of my state. =/

Are you reading the smae Bible i am? bc it says between a man and a woman...

Between a man and a woman what? Does it say, "And no other combinations allowed"? If so, David and Solomon have some 'splainin' to do.

I think "ban" is a misleading term. Prop 8 didn't directly ban gay marriage; it just took the traditional definition of marriage and made it a legal statement.

And, in the process, banned gay marriage.

I said not directly, as in, it didn't single out and target gay marriage. The definition doesn't include polygamy and such too. Any previous gay marriages were also maintained.

But yes, the ultimate consequence was disallowing future gay marriages.

I'm not sure "traditional" is the word de jure.

How so? Sorry I want to refrain from responding because I get the feeling I'm misinterpreting what you're trying to say.

Sorry for being unclear. While it's certainly a popular term, I posit that the term "traditional marriage" or "traditional definition of marriage" is somewhat disingenuous when taken to refer exclusively to one man, one woman unions.

Ah, I see. Yes that's true. But traditionally marriages have been between heterosexual couples, just not necessarily limited to only one man and only one woman.

Or am I wrong? I haven't heard anything to the contrary, but if you have a source, I would love to read it. 3nodding

Hmmm. I'll start here. I think I need to look through my resources to more adequately address this.

How is me being against Gay Marriage make me a bad Christian/Person?
Don't get me wrong I'm not against them one bit, But I do think Marriage is a constitution between one male & one female.

What about David, Solomon, and Jacob, who had more than one wife? Or Abraham, who screwed the handmaid?
