The reason why I don't believe in God is because there isn't any proof or actual reason to believe that God is anything more than a legend; a myth.

I find it funny when Christians go against the bible... lol

Matt. 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."

Read v. 5. Hypocritical judgment is the issue.

Take black and white text and interpret it to fit your needs...just trying to be a "good christian" rofl

I'm not even a Christian.

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. (Matt. 7:1-5)

Notice taking the speck out of your brother's eye isn't the problem. It's when the log in your own eye goes unnoticed and hasn't even been dealt with. After removing the log from your own eye, then proceed to remove the speck from your brother's. Feel free to judge, as long as it isn't by appearance or hypocrisy.

Yes, but the Bible also states:

Romans 3:21-26, LEB
"But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified about by the law and the prophets—that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For there is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins, in the forbearance of God, for the demonstration of his righteousness in the present time, so that he should be just and the one who justifies the person by faith in Jesus."

The entirety of Romans 3 can be read here.

All of humanity is imperfect, in accordance to (Judeo-)Christian theology. Though, your quote does not make too much sense in context. Matthew 7:1 refers to hypocritical judgement: do not judge another person for doing something wrong, or else you will be judged for the same thing. If you judge someone who is a fornicator, but you give into the temptation of masturbation, then you are hypocritically judging, which is wrong. However, if you judge someone who murders three people, and you have not committed then, it is not wrong. In fact, the rest of the verse, and the most important part of the verse, is as followed:

Matthew 7:2-5, LEB
For by what judgment you judge, you will be judged, and by what measure you measure out, it will be measured out to you. And why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the beam of wood in your own eye? Or how will you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to remove the speck from your eye,’ and behold, the beam of wood is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the beam of wood from your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye!

The entirety of Matthew 7 can be read here.

I ask that you not take quotes from the Bible out of their original contexts. I understand however, this is a very common misconception that has risen in recent years.

I read the last sentence. When you go church to church asking the same of preachers...I will accommodate that request. lol

I... um... what? That didn't make that much sense to me...

You basically just restated the lack of Object Permanence.

However this time pinned the burden of "proof" on religious people.

Thanks!

Ok, so you wanna have a go with the whole object permanence?
Let me start with asking you this, when you say object permanence are you implying that nonbelievers have seen the said object (in this case "God" wink and are just unable to remember its existence without it being present? Kind of like out of sight out of mind?
Or are you saying that there was no knowledge of its existence to be there to begin with? Never was in sight, never was in mind?
Im actually thinking me and you might come upon an agreement. Depending upon the answer of course, but in my case I myself am assuming you have something interesting to say on the topic. To put it short, im all ears and im not trying to bite.

The lack of object permanence was a joke.
Much like a religious joke.

However it is true to a certain level.

I'm going with the second one.
Object Permanence does not only refer to sight, but it is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be seen, heard, or touched.
In this case, theists who believe in the Abrahamic God say they can hear God (at times when He speaks) and can feel his Presence during a service.

However, we know the mind can play tricks on one's self; the reality of whether God exists or not cannot be proven, only theorized.

I don't believe in gods because I don't believe in unicorns or fairies. Or at least I don't believe in them for the same reasons.
Object permanence is an illusion, anyway.

I love that comic. And the guys website. Theyre pretty cool.

Also yes I do agree. Though I do think for the object permanence to exist there has to be some sense, (hearing touching, tasting, smelling and sight) that said object existed at one point so as to reference it to begin with.
But I think that was your joke. That the people who do 'feel/sense' anything spiritual are imagining things and only hoping its truth.

They lack Object Permanence.

lol

BRB, checking Google. Sounds familiar but I can't place it.

Wikipedia
Object permanence is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be seen, heard, or touched. This is a fundamental understanding studied in the field of developmental psychology, the significant subfield of psychology that pertains to infants' and children's social and mental capacities and development. There is not yet scientific consensus on when this understanding emerges in human development. Some researchers contend that it is acquired within the first two years of life, while others believe that it is an innate or built-in understanding that humans are born with.

Um... I'm gonna go with no?

See, the problem is, with object permanence, you already know the object exists, having seen it prior. It's just out of sight. But the problem atheists have is, they've never actually seen, heard, or touched God to begin with. How can you accept that something exists if you don't actually know what it is?

There are many reasons why people are atheist. Perhaps a bad experience led them to the question of "Why would a just and loving God allow bad things to happen to good people?"

Or perhaps they simply reasoned it out, or remain skeptical in the lack of evidence, or simply don't think it applies to how they live their life. Lots of reasons. An issue of "object permanence" only seems to apply when you're certain there's actually an object.
