"sol-inviticus"
"Redem"

The generic theistic catch-all rebuttals.

"You're going to burn in hell, repent sinner!!!"
and "God is beyond the limits of your logic."

You know, I actually haven't heard the first example much from anyone but Atheists building a strawman.

Second one and technique 42 I've heard a lot though

It's not generally used in civilised discussions, but it does occur.

Probably on ChristianForums.com if it does.

I don't really go there but my lord does that forum have a really dysfunctional community from what I've seen.

Okay, Neuro: one of your sentences must obviously explain the other.

"Neurotheist"
Perceptual perception is not the same thing as perception.

"Neurotheist"
I don't desire for humanity to be special, I'm not even 100% sure humanity exists, for all I know I might not even be a human tripping on some serious mushrooms.

no, not a solipsist, and solipsism is more complicated than that.
Actually, no, it isn't.

"Wikipedia"
Denial of the materialist existence, in itself, is not enough to be a solipsist. Possibly the most controversial feature of the solipsistic world view is the denial of the existence of other minds. We can never directly know another's mental stability. Qualia, or personal experience, are private and incorrigible. Another person's experience can be known only by analogy.

...

Solipsism is not a single concept but instead refers to several world views whose common element is some form of denial of the existence of a universe independent from the mind of the agent.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism
Your ideas sound vaguely Jungian with a touch of Dawkins's meme theory, namely that the ideas of things truly exist in the minds of people, and that those ideas may exist independently of any material manifestation of themselves.
Yup, and I'm not in denial of any existence of the universe, I'm just in the understanding that it may or may not be there. I'm a huge fan of Robert Anton Wilson, and
I know that Dawkins was an influence on RAW, but I'm not sure of Jung.

Though I also am a huge fan of Roger Zelazny, his major influences were Jung and the entire theory of solipsism.

So I suppose that that is true.

But describing a thing doesn't change the issue at hand, which, what was it again?

Yeah, I use big words, long sentences, and complex ideas, big whoop wanna fight about it?

I'm an atheist that believes in god. Don't believe me? Just ask me how.

I used to believe that Humans evolved from Apes. That all life came from single celled Organisms called Amoebas.

Really? You shouldn't have... Neither of those statements are true according to evolution; Humans and apes evolved from a common ancester, and all life (including amoebas) evolved from single celled organisms (just called cells)...

Hey heart
I used to believe that Humans evolved from Apes. That all life came from single celled Organisms called Amoebas.
Now I believe that god created us all, and the bible is fact.
I just wanted to know your opinions out there. Try to back up your idea... mrgreen

um take your own adivce there sweety. I have science. You have an overly revised book that controdicts itself. I win. I don't need to say any more than fossils.
And it would be homonids not apes there, maybe if you were properly educated you would recognize all the evidence rather than cling to a bible; I have only a slim hope that that might happen thou.

That would be agnostic sweetie unless you don't believe at all. What were you looking for?

Slight bump, slight correction. Us and the GREAT Apes have a common ancestor. OK, mainly I'm doing this is to basically necromancy the thread, but also, it needs to be known that humans ARE apes. After all, if we're not apes, what are we? Big Cats?

How sad.

don't worry about necromancy, we are probably going to hell anyways for believing in evolution twisted

but as for your classification, you are right. Man and apes are closely classified, with humans even being apes (bipedal mammal with thumbs)

Wow... Most intelligent statement of the day. Everyone knows that evolutionists claim to witness evolution! D= FAIL

I really wonder why this keeps coming up. We've got plenty of evidence for gradual evolution being the way the living creatures of today came to be. We've even created separate species, although this is among nematodes, so they don't get a lot of press outside of biological sciences.

Although if you just want to talk about morphospecies, whose behavior is only somewhat changed from the wild type, we've got plenty of those. Dogs (vs. wolves), domesticated foxes (vs. wild foxes), lovey rats (vs. brown Norway rats), and so on.

xd True.

And yes, when people think of Apes, they think of the great apes, but technically WE'RE apes as well. 3nodding

Technically, we're great apes, too, being members of the family Hominidae. Just thought I'd put that out there.
