it depends on what society you live in and what religion is dominant there. also, it's both. there are plenty of laws that have ben religiously influenced, and church has ben changed by society because, for example, my church has decided to start celebrating halloween; i still don't 'cause of it's origins; and this past year was the first year they started and before it was all " NO HALLOWEEN IS BAD!" and everything like that but now , as my youth pastor has said, " society has taken out the 'evil' part of Halloween and made it just a fun holiday" so now my youth group mostly celebrates. except for people like me who are non-conformist and i guess just different in opinion.
