Not being born that way =/= "It's a choice." I know I didn't choose not to be heterosexual, but I wasn't born bisexual either. I was born asexual. Ideas of ******** either gender/sex didn't enter the picture until at least age 4. (For me.)

Considering my ex-favourite verse in the Bible, I really don't see the logic behind that statement.

The question of how we become sexual beings and how our sexual attractions develop is certainly an interesting one. It's also one that probably doesn't get enough love from science.

First, I didn't say that, merely that I fear it was coming.

Secondly, that answer isn't really cutting it for me. First you're saying that no true loving God would do anything that seemed negative for their own, perhaps meta-benevolent, reasons; second if we're using YHVH as the example we add an extra layer of not being able to determine the outcome due to potential omnipotence, and him being able to see factors you can't begin to imagine.

In short, the answer should be something along the lines of he doesn't seem to need you to change.
