Well, as you can see from the way that I can't really answer any of your questions, and from my post, I'm having a hard time with my religion.

But, in the end, I believe in God and in Jesus because somehow, when I pray or when I glorify their names, or when I sing a hymn I feel a peace within, a warmth. I don't feel lonely and I feel like there's always someone there for me, no matter how bad I screw things up, there will always be someone there.. to listen.
When I feel sad, I can sing a hymn and I will find happiness.
My Christianity is different from most... at my church we are taught to behave differently and think differently...
We have to wear certain clothes and not do certain things because they are considered sins..

When I read the Psalms or when I go to church to hear the word of God, I feel a connection.

do you mind telling me what religion you are. i would love to continue talking to you about it. it seems interesting. and if yo uare uncertain about your religion there are many others out there. Ones that may make you feel better and one where you can answer any question.

I'm aware that there are other religions, but I think that Christianity is the religion for me, I just need to know things for myself you know? I want to be able to answer questions like the ones that you asked...

As I said, I'm a Christian, but my church is a mixture of the Baptist other sects like Presbyterian etc..
But I found out that it has roots with the Calvinistic sect of Christianity too, I mean the beliefs..
I don't want to insult or be rude, it's just that when I hear that, I am struck by how odd it is. Do you believe that your particular sub-set offshoot of a branch of a branch of a particular version of a belief that calls itself Christianity that looks nothing like Christianity a hundred years ago let alone 2,000 years that you find yourself in mostly due to where and when you were born actually got it right, or is the correct set of beliefs just not important? And when you say you feel your god do you not realize that the claim is made by people within not just every other sub-set of branches within Christianity throughout, but every other religion ever?

Everyone has a different belief and a different way to feel God, or whatever. I'm not saying that every single religion on the planet are wrong and mine is right, or that my church is the only one that got it right.
My parents believed it was right for them and the other 3 million people that are currently members think it's right for them too.

Again, I'm not saying that my church got it right...Who am I to judge like that.
I believe that it's right for me...The same way that other people thought it was right for them..
it all depends on their preference.

I know Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and other religions, I know what they stand for and their beliefs, yet I'm not saying that they are wrong and that Christianity or my little church is right...

Is it true that it's not believed in Islam that Jesus was ever crucified (is it because it is never said in the Quran?), even though you believe he was a holy person... I was surprised since it seems that event would be able to be verified, and is not contingent on him being the Messiah?

i don't know the exact but i do believe that in the quran it talks about how someone else was crucified in his place, but given his image to make them believe it was jesus. and Jesus was raised to heaven or something like that. i could try and find it for you if you want.

i haven't been muslim too long so i don't know all the details to everything.
Ok, thank you for answering. I'll look for it, maybe I can find it...

I don't believe that any religion has any better claim to being correct than any other. To extend that to not believing in anything is a bit much, I don't see where you would get that.

It's quite simple really, no religion has any better claim than any other to their own correctness. They can't all be true either. I've argued, debated, and watched debates and discussions of religious apologists long enough to have heard every argument out there, and the study of Logic is one of my favorite subjects and I feel that I have a firm grasp on the study of reasoning to know that every single argument in favor of any particular religion, including religion in general, has been insufficient to convince me that any religion is or has ever been correct.

A line from a song comes to mind, which I'm pulling from memory, "... What are the odds! Given humanities endless parade of Gods- the one you just so happen to believe was the actual one, and he digs on healing". I used to be a believer, but I realized that I was only a Christian because my parents were Christian, which is hardly a reason to believe in something. I would like to say that I quickly stopped believing, but no, it was a long painful year of self-doubt and prayer, until I could no longer believe. Christianity just became too absurd to believe in, it was impossible to believe.

Hmm... I see...

No one know what's right. There is no truth when it comes to religion... You can't argue, because you can't prove against it or for it.

But I realized one thing, if you start to look at religion with logic, then it will become insanity. But if you look at religion, almost blindly, and simply feel it, they way you want it, then it will become reality.

But then again, it's just my opinion.
