I'm very conflicted regarding my beliefs about the afterlife, if there is one. I'm divided between four beliefs, maybe five, which are too complicated to explain accurately and briefly; plus, a few of the conceptual ideas that exist in my mind are somewhat vague, or at least I don't think I can explain them well enough. One of them is rather grim, but part of me wants to believe in it because it would explain a lot and I can comprehend it easily. Another is less grim, but is more mysterious as it relates to the material world, and it conflicts with my near-certainty (out of desire to make sense of the world around me) about the former belief.
Frankly, I don't feel like explaining the others, but one of them is basically reincarnation but of a different sort than the ones in the opening post as it doesn't involve 49 days or karma or anything like that, and the others are more along the lines of conventional, main-stream theology.
