How many elemental heroes are there then?
I thought there was just 6 of them; are they more like a set?
They all seem pretty cool though.
How is it possible to stall then?
Just keep using weak cards until you pull off your main attack?

There's about 59 elemental hereos total including fusions and cards in Japanese not yet released to America. They are sort of like the Justice League there are many members XD yep they are a set. Yeah they are pretty cool which is why I wanted to collect them all. =)
It's possible to stall by using monsters that are hard to destroy and can summon another like the flying squirrel Nimble Momonga, or can't be destroyed in battle like Marshmallon and Spirit Reaper or have high defense like Gear Golem the Moving Fortress as well as cards that prevent the opponent from attacking and destroying your monsters like Swords of Revealing Light, Gravity Bind, and Waboku and others.

Ah, I get it.
Since some cards need special other cards to fuse or have other special abilities, does it take luck to find those cards in packages?
Or perhaps you don't need to find those special other cards?

Sadly, yes but I have a large majority of them. Oh and I forgot to mention that I haven't even included the spells and traps to that total that only work for elemental heroes.
I have almost all of the evil heroes, even doubles of some of the fusions I mentioned like Inferno Wing and Lightning Golem. I was really lucky the day I found them. XD

It does for some of them. It's a lot easier if the card needed is a common card and you already have the fusion monster itself. But for all rare cards it can be difficult if it's needed. One card in particular of the Evil heroes was hard to find but once I found one I kept finding a copy of it (Evil Hero Malicious Edge).
For some decks it's not necessary to have all the cards but if it's a theme deck it could be needed.

Ah, but that must be annoying if you're looking for a particular card and you must rely on luck to get it. D:

Yeah of course I even have him in his collector tin rare form. =D As well as most of his fusions.
Yep it can be a bit of a let down finding a card that you already have.
Yeah, for the larger theme sets that only come in packs it's harder but sometimes there may be a re-release of some of the hard to get cards from the theme in future card packs.

Yep some cards from the packs get re-released in collector tins for the holiday seasons. =)
I usually keep them and some of the rares that I had extras of I would see if I could trade them.

Yep. Some of the cards from themes have been put into individual packs that only contained one theme. They are usually called character duelist packs because a certain character from the shows uses the cards. Some of the elemental hero cards have been put in the packs three times. As well as crystal beasts and destiny heroes. But not all themes get to be put into packs but some get made into structure decks.
