Sticky: Mini Shops and Art Shops Location in the Forums

well lemme put my two cents in ive been an artist since almost child birth lol actualy like 3 i started drawing i got my bachelors at the academy of art in san diego 8 years ive studied art and all its forms. yea sure we could post our art and sell it but honestly like others have stated why change what was stated. there would be alot of confusion and chaos if you switch it all the sudden lets also mention how long we put in to make these shops.
the idea of a mini shop is to well display sell and make art for those who want to buy it. its not in them means of just posting it and say here ya go it dosent work that way.
now if we are to discuss like actually making a shop which looks like the shops that are already in gaia that would deal with coding which in a way wouldnt be a bad idea. i think this way no one gets ripped off or taken quote"suckered" unquote. i also have a shop here and so far yes its not finished yet cause you gotta put alot into it and yea it takes time for a true artist to make not saying that there are people who are out there that are not artists but its in a way more helpfull to have an actual shop instead of using forums.
I however am open to many ideas but you also have to consider how many people have opened shops here already. and like i stated before if you meaning the gaia staff are to move the shops in its entirety would this mean that all the hard work that was done have to be done over? Or would the gaia staff move the whole entire shop all with its writing in tacked.
This would stir a lot of controversy and problems with shop owners i think so with this idea i would have to disagree on behalf of all the gaia shop owners here.
In other words keep the shops here till an idea can be settled amongst all the gaia artists out there. try to keep the peace not break it i always say.

The problem I have here is the multi-use shops! My single little shop sells Tarot Readings, Art, Pixel Toys, and Character Descriptions. When I'm bored, I may occasionally open other services, such as bumping, avatar edits, banner creation, wishlists, and even palm readings. My shop is so multi-purpose that splitting up the minishops into Art and Not Art would put me at a complete disadvantage, and I'd be in real trouble figuring out where to place it.

I would have 4 or 5 threads to keep bumped, watched, and set up, in order to sell everything I do now, simply in the Minishops forum. One for Pixels, one for Art, one for writing, and one for the Breedables I might start working with soon.

I do like the idea of making Minishops its own main forum however. Keeps everything together and screams that this is a place to sell! People might bother to come here, and on the front page all the subforums, including Art and such would be seen letting people go there straight off.

i agree that art shops should be a sub for ar discussion or that gaia exchange should not be in the gaming section at all. it should be in artists corner. the entire exchange

That sparks an interesting idea in my mind. Can't the minishops be turned into it's own catagory and all the current subforums can be turned into main forums. It's not like most of the subforums don't have (even more suby) subforums of their own.

So instead of being in gaia gaming we have a section called Minishops and then everything is broken up within that area.

They would have to add an area for all the stuff that currently falls into the main minishops but it might be a good solution. : )

I like this idea a lot. There are a TON of shops and I think making them easily accessible should be the main priority. It would cut down on the need for the excessive bumping and long indexes.
