For now, I will keep everything as-is, except for a name changes suggested by R&C (change R&C to Art shops & requests).

Another idea is to move 'art shops' as a new top-level forum in the artists corner. It would make it easier to find since many people assume 'Gaia gaming' means zomg and fishing and stuff. Other non-art types of Mini-shops could stay here. What do you think of that idea?

That makes a lot more sense than Art Discussion. *nod*

Still, I don't know. If you are going to move Art Shops, why not the rest of the minishops? Just because they're not custom-made art, doesn't mean they're not art-related. Pixelling and graphic design is really just as much an art as drawing someone's avatar.
And shops that sell both original art and, say, banners, would be stuck back in Minishops. That seems kind of lame, it's like you're telling someone they're not art-worthy because they're versatile.

But if you were to move the entirety of minishops to Artist's Corner, what the heck do you do with 'Services', which are pretty much the only strictly non-art-related shops? >>

I do like 'Art Shops' for R&C. I've had to explain the definition of 'commissions' several times.

On vacation from 11th-25th. Will be on lots still, just different timezone.

i think its fine the way it is... xd

Well for me, the real reason I want to move the R&C forum is because maybe that would remind people not to put it in the mini shops sections. I'm constantly looking through mini shops and 1/2 of times I click on them, they're avatar art shops. So it's kind of annoying.

Hello Shop Owners,

There have been some suggestions inSite Feedback that R&C should be moved to the Art Discussion or Mini Shops as a whole moved to the Artist Corner section on the main page. How do you feel about this? Does it make sense to move some or all of the mini-shops? Does it make sense to re-name any of the sections (user shops, art shops, or something else)?

Love,

The Forum Fairy

I want that name XD

[I already posted this in the thread in the R&C forum before I saw this one, but I thought it'd be good to post it here too for others to see. x3]

I'd like to point out that moving it would completely confuse the heck out of everyone with minishops now [so it might take some time getting used to]. The only thing about moving it to the Art Discussion would be that it's not really discussing art, it's just buying it. Another point is that there's the Services subforum as well - Services don't really have anything to do with art [I don't think bumping takes enough creativity to be considered an 'art'.]

I think that the Mini Shops forum should stay where it is, or move it up to Gaia Community. xD But I mean really, I think it's perfectly fine where it is [since it could be considered part of the 'Gaia Gaming Experience'?]

As a solution for threads from the Art Discussion being moved to this forum, maybe one of the Art Discussion's subforums could link to this forum. So that way it would be in two places, and it would help both the people in the Art Discussion forum and allow the Mini Shop forum to stay where it is.

agreed

I agree with changing the name to Art shops & requests for R&C. It will make it a bit easier to understand. As for moving the Minishops or separating the "Art" Shops from the other minishops, it is a very bad idea. People already have a hard enough time putting their shops in the correct forum and if you move "Art" shops to the Artists corner, you will have two sets of shop forums in two separate places; doubling your problem with placing threads in the correct forum/subforum. If you are going to break down the Minishops forum at all, then you would have to really break it down. Seperate Hand-drawn art, pixel shops, graphic shops, etc. But doing this also poses the problem that Stereochrome brought up about all -in-one shops that sell a variety of different art. So in short you would have to put all of minishops into it's own category which would be difficult.
