While I have yet to hear the new material, I do have a copy of the self-titled and Filosofem. Those albums are pretty solid despite having been recorded with headphones.

How do you input into some thing that can only output?

I don't know why it works, but I've been told by people who have no microphone that them plugging their headphones into the microphone port and speaking into them worked

It's possible it could function as a diaphragm mic, but I don't think there is any electrical signal generated just by flexing the speaker coil in the vast majority of headphones.

Technically, it should work just like that.

But besides that, I thought they were recorded using a headset microphone. Not the headphones themselves.

Varg has been making some great music lately. I know people fault him for believing what he does. But the fact, aside from what he believes on a social level; he makes music that is challenging to the listener. I personally fault him because he does does not use synth instruments now. I can understand that because it could remind him of his prison life. Varg makes music because it's his only way to make money. He admitted to it on his website a while back.
