You have me confused with a hipster, it does seem.

Real music is made entirely by the musician(s). Not tailoring to the norm, not letting your manager (who is a manager, not a musician for a reason) dictate what kind of music you write.
Real music has soul, it was made for the fans, not the dollar bills that flow.

It has something that American music lacks, more or less: talent.
None of these attractive people that can kinda play guitar/bass/drums/sing, no.
Real music is from the early years, its spirit is fed and trained over the years.

Listen to (most) overseas music. Listen closely. I know it might be hard after the abominations sent out by money-grubbing ******** who are nothing but puppet masters for their bands.
You'll notice, especially in the vocals, there are some sour seconds. Pitches aren't entirely right, or a rhythm got a twitch.
This is because they don't need to run it through a synth a million times so it sounds tolerable.

I'll openly admit I'm an elitist, as are most true Metalheads. Obnoxiously elitist, the lot of us are.

what quality of music are you talking about? I'm not sure what you're judging that makes one technically superior to the other. Is one in a major key and the other a minor key? Does one chord progression better than the other?

I don't have a clue what quality you're saying is better. If it's so evident you could easily write a fairly lengthy description (about 3+ paragraphs) explaining what qualities make it better. If you're gunna pull your whiney "foreign music is about soul, america is teh monies" then that's just you being a crybaby.
