What are you thoughts on the band "In Flames"?

Very meh about them, but they were highly entertaining at BOA.

I thought they were great when I first got into them but now they're meh. I usually just listen to individual songs.

In Flames is one of the best bands out there, and My Sweet Shadow has become my own personal theme. Oh! And I saw a guy at my school that had a shirt that said on the front, "Don't like In Flames?" and emblazoned on the back was "EAT A BAG OF s**t." I thought it was quite humorous, and it made my day. biggrin

Surprisingly put on a great performance at BOA.

Def one of my top 5 bands .....love them soo good but I also agree that some individual songs are better than others.

Not a band I'd choose to listen to probably, but if I had to, I could stand 'em. |

I like newer In Flames.
I can see why a lot of people who were fans of their old sound or especially picky about the word "metal" would dislike them now as they are decidedly more mainstream. What can I say, however, except that I like their more mainstream sound? |

I actually think their newer stuff is better than their older material, even if it's a little more mainstream and pleasing to a wider range of listeners.
I just think it flows a little smoother. |

i like in flames 'round the table. old stuff, new stuff, s'all cool. my favourite album is probably lunar strain but r2r, clayman, and jester race do stand out for me. well, colony and whoracle are real decent too.
actually, the only in flames album that really doesn't do much for me is soundtrack. i don't hate it or anything, i just never got into that one for some reason. |

In Flames were one of my first metal bands, along with Kalmah and Children Of Bodom. I've moved on to heavier, more meaningful s**t now, but all of the above are still good for a listen when I'm the the mood for some melodeath (although there's better melodeath around).
