I like Tiamats old work but idk I never really got into their new s**t its like the hooks arent catchy enough or something or his voice idk

tahts off an amazing death metal album

rofl
that song is... super good
did they release any more goth rock songs?

I guess Klimt sort of fits the bill.

And

Invisible Gatekeeper

klimt 1918 reminded me of novembre's better stuff, so i looked them up, and lo and behold, they're good friends
their first album was recorded by novembre's drummer

I love The Gathering's later output. It wasn't very metal anymore in any degree, but I loved the trip-hop, dream pop, and goth-infused direction they took.

If you want Fields and Sisters rip-offs, I can give plenty.
Artica (these guys used to do straight up gothic coldwave before taking a more metal approach)
Catherines Cathedral
Dominion (from Philippines, now located here in SF!)
Love Like Blood
Descendents of Cain
The Silence Industry
Charlotte's Shadow
The House of Usher
Reptyle
Sixx (post-punk side project of black metal band, Von)

Or blackened post-punk, shoegaze, trip-hop, etc-stuff, for that matter.
An Autumn for Crippled Children
Apati
Mal Etre
Hateful Abandon
Mourir et Revenir (this guy does what I describe as "blackened minimal wave", lol)
Sun of the Sleepless
Netra
Circle of Ouroborus
Vuota (this is my friend's project)
Sanctus Daemoneon
Somnolence
Urfaust
Vranorod

I dunno too many on bands more akin to Type O Negative, with a doom + goth blend, but I'd absolutely love to hear 'em!

you're super nice and i truly like you, but you completely beat me to the punch here and i'm not sure it's something i can ever forgive you for.

this really is a great split tho, the atriarch side is just as good.

and the album art was so neat that i got it tattooed.

Oooh, tattooed that? Now that's seriously awesome, yeah, that's a totally wicked cover art.

Yeah, Alaric is local to me (San Francisco). Sadly, never got to see 'em live because I'd always be busy with school, but hopefully they'll play again soon!

Invisible Gatekeeper

this thread has me looking up music from my gaaaaaaaaaaaaawthx days
some of these are really good but i forgot how laughable and pretentious some goth bands are
but i mean that's kind of a requirement i guess

Hmm, I remember lying to this chick that I liked Type O Negative to score points with her because she was a huge fan. We ended up hooking up but she couldn't suck d**k for her life
