Actually I think Orcs have the best resource gathering. Hell, they pillage a city and get PAID for it!

I still say night elves because they got some of the best buildings in terms of defense in my opinion.

That's highly debatable. The Ancients are powerful, true, but most of them have to be uprooted, which requires more micro then the other races. Not to mention that Orc towers build faster then any other building in the game and Humans can layer peasants to build a whole lot of their towers real fast.

Well, in Frozen Throne, the buildings can attack while rooted.
Not to mention the evles get points just for coolness, but since they are the most versitle, as well as having the Priestess of the Moon, they are the coolest.

Trueshot Aura is nice, but Starfall is the best for heavy assult or razing a town. Or, ya know, both. Plus, c'mon, she rides a tiger.

Too bad Starfall is wasted on computer-controlled Undead. Dread Lord puts her to sleep: BAM. 125 mana gone and 0 damage done.

Otherwise, you just surround her with Druids of the Claw and Hippogryph Archers so your opponent can't even select her. > wink

Starfall aint a waste, u just need a formulated strategy. Works good!

Starfall isn't as useful as it seems at first glance, just like all other "maintained" spells. Oh, sure, it seems like a really kick-a** ability, but see how confident in the PotM you are when I interupt her Starfall with a quick Chain Lightning. Even surrounding her with units won't work, since Chain Lightning bounces. =P

... But, yeah, she does ride a tiger. > wink

Actually, I don't think chain lightning will interrupt a maintained spell. They'll keep going even if you have an entire army tackling them with physical attacks. The only way to interrupt a maintained spell would be killing the unit/hero, forcing them to move via things like cyclone, stunning, or simply inhibiting movement (sleep, entangling roots). Or we'll have to play sometime to test it, dear. >P
