Ok, hold the train...the spam or otherwise referred to as chatterbox section is further down the board listings...not here. Do as the forum title says, Question or feedback...otherwise there should be no other input unless discussing the topic at hand, whichever thread it accounts for. Right? Surely that is correct.

Party pooper. SO we spammed a little bit. But we all had fun. Gaia isn't all strict and stuff you should lighten up. I am sure the admins don't mind us having a little fun. Plus one of them started it.

There's fun, and there's fun. I never have had any objections to a bit of fun and humerous posting, but when it's on a topic that needs serious answers or possibilities put forward, 5 out of 8 pages being pure 'spam', doesn't quite...cut the cheese shall we say.

I actually do know what I'm talking about here. When I say that I've been through this cycle before and know where it is heading, I'm not joking. Why else would I bother wasting all my time giving up ideas. I enjoy posting around here, dotting about here and there, having fun wherever, and adding viewpoint where I see fit, therefore, I want to see the boards as would anyone, in a condition say 6 months down the line from here, that you can still enjoy and post on in a similar manner to that which we can now.

You might think well there's no need for all this if that is the idea to head towards...but you'd be wrong...

I'll ask an Admin to answer this if possible, if not could a Mod check for me: How many users have registered in the past week? I can guarnetee that the average amount of users registering has soared increasingly from any previous checks that may have been made.

What does this tell us? Activity and popularity of Gaia is increasing...as more and more users come along, more and more 'spam', flames, repeated questions on the same thing will appear.

Do you want to mill around the Gneral Discussion board weary of every post...I certainly wouldn't.

So allow me to come back to the point: Your 'spamming', sorry, your fun, whilst also of no relevance to the topic, is actually creating pages and pages of 'crap' that anyone with a good viewpoint to add, must read through to find the 'real' aspects of the thread to make their invaluable contribution to the thread on whichever the last page happens to be at that point.

I'm all for fun and amusing threads, a bit of 'spam', a bit of role play fun, whatever. However, a bit of inniciative and common sense says that on a serious issue relating to the boards you could easily take it to chatterbox, ne.

I would hate to see you as a mod. You'd be taking the fun out of all of Gaia. confused I was about to leave Gaia a couple days ago because all of this seriousness. Then this thread came along and I find I can actually enjoy it again.

To your point: it was funny...it got old fast so I took it back to some form of an actual purpose to the thread.

The idea for quashing rumours is superb, the way it's done could be improved on with some of the suggestions thus far in this thread.

good points as many of us have complained about newbs and such... but just as there's "fun" and "fun", there's "spam" and "that other meat that tastes vaguely of spam...cept worse"... We may have gotten a bit enthusiastic about posting "irrelevent topics", and people might not find the material here nearly as funny as we did, but just as you don't condone needless spam, I can't imagine having fun in a place where RP, RL, and writing is so exclusive of one another...

Not only that, but I believe your post is premature... The 3-4 pages of fun spam was inspired by pictures admins in dresses, which *everyone* enjoyed... and was only a one time occurance. This differs in icky spam where people just post "spamspamspam" for gold! It is possible that we went a bit overboard, and I concede that some people feel that we went a bit far... but I chalk it up to being human and the ability to get lost in inspiration and passion... after all, what fun is there in running gaia like a machine?

The key is then in moderation... and the one to decide what is moderate is (I feel) the owner of this thread. If he/she tells us to not spam so often on a thread, I am very willing to respect his wishes...

PlaceCard and I kept to the topic mostly in this thread. Did you notice that? Just because a few people pop in a thread and start talking about other stuff doens't mean that this thread is spam. I've been running around Q&F for a long while now, and I've been doing exactly what this threadis about. People are constantly flooding into Gaia, making assumptions, being told wrong information and generally thinking whatever they wish. That is exactly why Q&F is here. People can come in, ask their question(s) and get their answers. So what if there's a little spam in some of the threads? Spam is a way of life for a lot of the users on Gaia, they're gold hungry and feeling left out because they don't have much.

And speaking of spamming, it seems to me that your post moreso belongs in in the WE NEED MORE MODS PETITION rather than in this thread.
