Whee. As the unofficial NaNo promoter at my school, I so have to take a crack at this and maybe even plug it some more. xD

This time I won't get my hand(s) involved in a freak accident right at the first day of summer. >D

A small banner- small enough to be considered a button, that could be used to keep track of where you are, word-count wise. It can easily be edited in Paint. ***As a .PNG file, it will not become fuzzy or pixelated like a .JPG. (.JPG SUX!) (XP) It is simple, not-too-loud, and tasteful. It isn't very exciting, but it also doesn't come across as impudent, prideful, pretentious, or lame. And it can be customizied a million different ways.


The finished WriMos get a gold star. XD Or you could always stick your own image back there. heart

The base is such:
(The star for finished novels can be drawn in with light and bright yellow, with Line Tool and Fill tool, or another distinguishing shape could be used.)

I'm sure someone could come up with a more fabulous base, but the basic idea is that everyone participating is in charge of creating, editing, and maintaining their own "NaNoWriMo Button".

As a button, it functions well: Participants can put it in their signature to link back to this thread, their WriMo blog, or another pertinent location.

I was reading the old thread when the Chopper came up. Then I added it to my story to add more words. My main character's mother was obsessed with As Seen On TV and she had 3 Ultimate Choppers! xd The infomercial was also used in a scene to cause sexual tension. whee

I was planning on participating in NaNoWriMo this year, and I was disapointed that I had to wait (I found out in February), but now I don't have to! Yay!

I don't know if this has been suggested, but I have an idea for the word count. Maybe instead of making it 50k words, it could be 100k? That seems like a ridiculous amount of words, though....

I'll probably do it, if I can find a story that doesn't need major world building between now and June 1. (I s'pose I could do one of my "realistic" ones, but those are just boring.)

Meh, it sounds awful, but in truth, it's only about 2 pages at size 12 font a day - 1000 odd words. I think most of us can manage it... in the past 9 days I've written 41000 words without much of a problem (though not anymore, I'm dead sick of my latest story)...

And Ivy, I've got my version of your button prepped and ready to use starting June 1. I hope you don't mind, but I altered mine to have a little pencil on the bottom that shows my progress as I go along smile
