Gaia's First Year Memory Timeline ~~ Happy Birthday, Gaia!

My friend Neko(The Dark Neko) told me about Gaia at the end of March. I was bored so we both joined and I was addicted right away. I spent hours here every day trying to get kitty ears. I remember going into the store to admire them and suddenly a pink box appeared at the top of the page. eek It was pretty and it had wings so I clicked on it. When I opened it I was really disappointed to get weird eyebrows so I sold them and bought my kitty ears. I eventually sold them and got chii ears whee

I was really surprised when I got on one day and saw a cute little egg with wings flying around just like my first gift box. I got chicky slippers at first but I didn't want them after I saw someone wearing bunny slippers so I sold them and waited for another egg. I haven't taken my bunny slippers off since then. I made a bunny slipper army guild and Neko made a chicky slipper army but those disappeared quickly xd

In July when I saw the halos I wanted one so I went to donate right away xd That's when I became obsessed with Ragnarok Online and stopped coming here crying I wish I didn't because I missed so much. I came back in the middle of august and I realized that I had a blue letter that wasn't there before so I opened it and I got my panda hat 4laugh I also changed my name to Strawberry Cat(It used to be strawberrycat. Not much of a difference xd ).

Wow I love this. It takes me back to when Gaia first started, and I was "Tamala". I remember the chat room. I remember when the dark skin tone was added. xd

I could have sworn trunks came later on than in March. When I joined in April they didn't have trunks. Only the pink links and pink boxes were up, -then- trunks came and shortly after so did trading and Gambino.

oh, and all this talk about the Rumour Patrol thread reminds me of when it was started, and thinking it was a good idea and trying to post in there and bust a rumour or two but being totally ignored and other people getting the credit, and it now being too big and scary for me to venture into.

You weren't ignored, I dun think. I think PC got the information elsewhere first - PlaceCard goes with the person who told him first. Also, after a while, too many people came in posting and now a lot of rumors and stuff get washed into the backlog cry But Rumor Patrol is still doing its duty.

The Rumor Patrol isn't big and scary, we're all very friendly. It's just hard to keep up with!

I'd have to say my favorite memory would definitely be Easter. whee I joined in the beginning of April, so Gaia was fairly young and nobody was expectant (or, dare I say, demanding) of a holiday event. In truth, it was the very first one and I'm honored to say I was a part of it.

I got on Gaia late in the evening, nearly missing the event. One of my friends contacted me, telling me to hurry to Gaia because there was something special going on. I was simply delighted to find slippers were being given out, especially of bunnies, which I'm particularly fond of.

Slippers were abundant, nearly every avatar was wearing a pair. Some users even started threads saying they were tired of seeing them and a good many sold them to the store for a mere 11 gold. Who knew how popular they would really become in the later months...I can only imagine how many Gaians are kicking themselves today xd

As for me, I kept mine and to this day I still consider them my most favorite Gaia item. blaugh
