I don't understand how such a simple thread can get so much trolling and hate in so few posts.
What does it matter if it is celebrated in other places? This kid is giving a shout out to the place that the United states associates with Mardi Gras, simple as that. I'm sure he knows that it's celebrated across the US, as well as across the world, as it didn't originate in the US or anything.
Also may I point out the wording of his statement seems to imply he LIVES in New Orleans, therefore he'd have every right to say happy Mardi Gras to people in his town. It'd be no different than somebody saying "Merry Christmas New Orleans", or to anywhere else. These phrases are used every day.
So c'mon guys, let's not try to act like we know everything. This is one of the reasons why less and less people have anything civil to say in forums other than Chatterbox and the GD on Gaia.
