My local library threw a Mardi Gras party last week.

I find it an odd place cause Mardi Gras is so loud and libraries should be quiet.

I find Mardi Gras to be a pointless holiday. It's just another excuse for everyone to become drunken buffoons and give out objects that have no real meaning or value other than a memory of the night someone flashed their chest. Mardi Gras is one of those days that were simply made to give someone an excuse to have a day off at work.

Over here in Louisiana, schools have it off, and some businesses will even close for it too. Not mine, though. They gave us President's Day off instead...woulda rathered those days were switched. -_-

And really, people will get rowdy for any other holiday. If chicks want to expose themselves for what's probably dollar-store beads, more power to them (and a better view for the rest of us).
