The real question is why is there even a women's history month?

I wish that instead of picking a month for every minority and ending up sexist, racist, and everything in between, people would just pick three months of equal length and name them as follows: Western History month, Middle Eastern History month, and Eastern History month. It isn't sexist because it doesn't even mention men versus women, and it isn't racist either because it doesn't single out or focus on a specific race, it focuses on the culture, and those are the three most prominent cultures in our world today.

Hell, maybe we could add a few lesser known cultures in like the African culture (not talking about having a black history month, I'm talking about having an African culture month. There is a big difference) or even the Native American culture.

Not only would the switch help to eliminate some racism and sexism, but it would eliminate some ignorant misconceptions about other cultures that people have.

I'm not really against remembering great women of history. I just found the logic amusing.
The part I do get a little tired of is it seems like every month, week or even day is supposed to be 'something month' (or week / day). In many cases it is 'officially' multiple things. At least women's history is more significant than some. Go here for a pretty long list of that sort of stuff:
