I wanted to answer them alll.. but some I just don't know what to respond with, so here's a few I can answer.



-Who is your favorite/least favorite mangaka/author?:
Favorite is CLAMP. By far. Always loved their art, and only loving it more as they develop and change their style and overall design.

Least favorite... Mmm, don't really have one. Ever read Banana Fish? I wasn't that fond of that author's art. I generally steer away from most of the old shonen styles of drawing such as Banana Fish's... but it's not to say I won't give it a chance first.


-Which mangaka/author has the most beautiful art/art style/best stories?:
CLAMP wins again. There's many others, of course... But. ..Eh. One-track mind, maybe. :{ I just find their art... line-arts, color pages, covers, everything... extremely aesthetically pleasing and interesting to the eyes.
Their stories are absolutely magical and inspire me to draw and write, and they're just generally full of awesome. I grew up reading CLAMP stuff; I can't go back now. x)


-Which publisher/scanlator is your favorite/least favorite?:
I don't have a favorite, but those who help scanlate xXxHOLiC, D.Gray-man and Tsubasa - you're loved very much. ♥

I also like Peach Pit, Tokyopop, and Del-Rey Manga as publishers.

Funniest - in my opinion, Azumanga Daioh. If you want crack... ..just read on. lmao

Saddest - right now, I think of nothing but recent chapters of Tsubasa. Sorry. x[ Ororon the Demon was pretty damn sad, too. Tragedyyy.

Scariest - Hellsing was... 'scary', but to me it was just wicked. Not a lot scares me when it comes to manga. ...Like, nothing. But Diabolo threw me for a loop once or twice.

Dumbest - I don't know. I don't like Negima!. A lot of people do, but I hated it when I tried to read it. Same with Pita Ten. I generally steer away from reading/following (a) young main character/characters; I find them sheltered and annoying, and too much like a little child to enjoy the plot and art enough to put up with it... or something. Hard to explain.


-Which manga is the most over-rated/worst/annoying/etc?:
Um ...right now? I have a personal hate for Naruto. Liked it - but after going through all the damn filler episodes, having my friends spoil it for me anyways, WAITING for the manga to come out, and realizing, "What's the point in reading more if it's going to drag on like this 'til it's no fun to read?", I just decided to give up on it. I admit that Shippuuden is neat.. but I'm getting really annoyed at the whole popular obsession around Naruto. Really am. I don't want to see it anywhere, anymore.


-Which manga is the most obscure/oldest/popular/newest manga you've seen?:
Diabolo confused the crap out of me at first, but it got better.

Solfege (a yaoi manga) was 'old art'-like, but it was alright, so eh.

Ororon the Demon was magical and amazing even for being obscure and a slightly different style than I was used to.

Clover by CLAMP confused me a lot. But it's amazing, so who cares~.


-Which manga made you cry/scream/giggle/etc?:
Only the Ring Finger Knows was... mind-blowing. In every way. I cried and got frustrated a LOT. But it ended on a happy note, so I'm alright now.

Tsubasa has made me cry/scream/squee/any-other-verb-imaginable MANYmanymany times now since chapter 100 or so (and likely before then, too), and it's probably the one manga that can invoke the most emotion in me out of all manga.

xXxHOLiC got me a few times, too, especially recent chapters.

D.Gray-man made me cry volume 6 and on, off and on throughout the story as it progressed. Still does when the angst piles up. D:

And I'm sure there's MANY more.


-Which manga were better as an anime, and vice versa?:
Zombie-Loan's an amazing anime, and I have yet to read the manga, but I like it a lot as an anime even so.

Tsubasa's anime made me hate Bee-Train, and frankly, I hated the anime more than I've hated any anime. The only good thing about it was the voice-acting (Daisuke and Inada~~), the music (Yuki Kajiura is queen), and some of the animation sequences (not many). As soon as it swerved off the manga plot, I despised it. I cannot wait for the OVA though - the trailer already makes me die of happyyay. Imagine what the damn OVA itself will do!

Death Note was tedious as an anime - probably because we watched every single episode in Anime Club and that sucked up the whole year pretty much - and I think it should've remained a manga. The ending was satisfying, though, even if a bit different from the manga.

...Tsuuubasa. ._.
xXxHOLiC would be amazing, too.

-Which do you prefer, manga or anime?:
Manga, because it feels more 'actual' than anime, and it's more canon to me. Manga usually comes before an anime, and I cannot stand to see an anime leave the manga plot for the hope of being more 'entertaining' even if some manga have perfectly FINE plots that DON'T bore me and need manipulating.

I prefer manga because it leaves your mind to throw the scenes it sees together and make them move on its own; also leaves how you'd think a person's voice sounds up to your own interpretation as well.

Anime has its merits... nice music, some nice animation, voice-acting and image songs... but I do generally get into manga easier and stick with it more.


-Which manga quotes do you like? What are they?:
"If you lose sight of your path... Listen to the destination in your heart." Somewhere in D.Gray-man after volume 6. It's a quote that was on one of the splash pages.

- Fai. Over every other character in any series or short story. He's hot, he's scandinavian/russian/SOMETHING, he's absolutely made of all the win in the world. He's strong (whether he likes to see it for himself or not), he's very wise, he's got a god-awful past and he's one hell of a complex character. I love everything about him. He's so very interesting.

- Kurogane. He's... gah. Can't explain Kuro. Kurogane is Kurogane. He's amazing, too.

Villians:

- Seishiro (if you can call him a villian). He's crazy. But I love it. |D And he's pretty hot.

- Ashura. He's not really a villian, but for a few chapters he appears as such, and it's pretty sadistic and cunning.

- Tyki. What a crazy son-of-a-beep. o-o すごい～。

Kuro/Fai is OTP. ♥ ♥ ♥
Lavi/Allen is cute~.

I think Yuzu Mizutani-sempai draws the best manga. Magical x Miracle really set Yuzu-chan off on the scene, it has a really cute charachters and everything too.

I own aproximatly 8,905-9,000 takubons. and around 1,800 magazines. Well... those are the ones I have back... --laughs--

Which manga is the most obscure/oldest/popular/newest manga you've seen?
The most poular Manga I've ever seen...I'd say Kodocha (was popular untill somewhere around mid-january in japan) Inuyasha( was popular untill like.... 5 years ago) Naruto (Was popular for a few years untill the series became stupid) Kaitou Saint Tail. (Is still quite popular.) Furumoun wo sagashite me (Hell that was one of Shogakuen's no 1's untill a couple weeks ago)
Hiroku and WaTeRgATe are becoming quite popular now aswell

The newest... hmmm... allot, but none any americans would know so I won't bother woth them. the newest ones I pay attention to... would be my own. --laughs--

my favorite short story for manga would have to be 'Glass wings' haha, it's cute enough.

-Who is your favorite/least favorite mangaka/author?

Favourite would have to be Nobuhiro Watsuki. He is HILARIOUS. Least favourite? well, I don't like the manga Last Fantasy, which is by Creative Hon (??) and Yong-Wan Kwon.

-Which mangaka/author has the most beautiful art/art style/best stories?

Most beautiful art and style would have to be Kouyu Shurei, creator of the Ali Chino series. I just wanna dive in and roll around in it... XD

-Which publisher/scanlator is your favorite/least favorite?

My favourite would have to be Tokyopop, since almost all of my manga is published by them. They're pioneering the 'manga revolution' here in England, which I am forever grateful for.

As for my worst, I don't really know any bad ones.

-Which publisher/scanlator does the best/worst translations?

I dunno about worst, but my favourite scanlator is RKDReams (translator: Lawrence Chu, with help from Maigo-Chan) since they allowed me to read volumes 1-7 of RuroKen, and I prefer some of their translations to the 'official' Viz ones.

-Which manga is your favorite series/short story?

Rurouni Kenshin. So cute, romantic and hilarious... it's a total winner.

(By the way, yes I am missing out questions I can't be bothered to answer, or can't answer)

-Which manga were better as a anime, and vice versa?

Now that's an interesting one. I think I prefer Gravitation as an anime, to be honest. But most series are better as manga, like Rurouni Kenshin and Yu-gi-oh!.

Definitely Yu-gi-oh! o^.^o Or Pokemon.

-Which do you prefer, manga or anime?

Manga. There's nothing like the original, and plus it's easier to come by for me.

I have a couple of absolute favourites from the third volume of .hack//Legend of the Twilight:

Oh, lots. Yonen Buzz, Chronicles of the Cursed Sword, Fushigi Yugi, Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Yu-gi-oh!, DNAngel, Fruits Basket...

xD I can't be bothered to count. Quite a few, although the most I have of any one series is 7 books.

hmm.. my favorite manga... has got to be Tsubasa RESERVOIR Chronicles.. it's such and awesome story, and it's not all for juveniles either once you progress throughout the story
