So, anyone read this manga weekly?
I honestly think it is genius; the art can be rough, but some of the villain designs are just plain ******** creepy or awesome. The premise and plots are just so overly ridiculous, that it is pretty ******** amazing.
Everything is over the top, and it is virtually a parody of the whole shonen, fight-manga genre. It is somewhat cliche as well, but it is a generic shonen fight manga done RIGHT; everything about it is done right, it is fun, action-packed, it keeps me on the edge of my seat, the fights are clever, the abilities are clever, the pacing is good, and it is entertaining. Besides, you've never really had a series about food like this before.
On one end it is kind of a generic shonen, fighting adventure manga, on the other end it is an cliche done PERFECTLY, and it is just sheer, unadulterated, guilty pleasure.
I'm up to date in the Japanese chapter releases, and I also collect the translated manga releases in the U.S.
I honestly think it ties for best currently running Shonen Jump tightly along with One Piece, and I think it is far better than Naruto and Bleach.
Opinions?
