Light Yagami made me sad too. His insanity and way of thinking reminded me a lot of Lelouch from Code Geass. But i hated how he turned out at the end, i mean, asking a shinigami for help? The fool.

True, Light kinda lost his plot and just spent his time making sure he didn't get caught. All he ended up doing was trying to kill Near (and Mello). It was such a waste of brains and good looks! He could've become an elaborate Police chief or investigator saving the world without killing!

Light is awesome, I agree with him that scum bags deserve to die. No one should have to go through the pain and suffering of getting raped / murdered by another human. Those humans aren't even human and deserve to die. Light is a murderer as well, but for a just cause.

I liked him in the early chapters a lot, but he slowly turned to an egotistic maniac. Like trying to be a god? Get real

I am completely in love with Light Yagami. I feel like his evil portrayal and insanity later on were both effects of the death note, especially considering that when he lost his memories he was a kind, genuine guy. He was a victim of fate and I feel sorry for him for that, but I also admire his sense of justice and feel like if he hadn't tried to kill L and other innocent people to protect himself, the Kira thing might have worked if he only stuck to major criminals and in the moment type hostage situations. That probably wouldn't have worked because of the way that the death note contaminates minds, but it's ideal. I just love him!!! heart And I hate how some people think that they have to hate Light just because they like L. I like them both! smile

I really liked light int he beginning because he WAS helping people.I would totally support him if he were real.BUT he got stupid at the end...If only he had stayed quiet
