___We know there's anime

This thread is for the discussion of the FullMetal Alchemist manga. Posts that are only about the anime will be ignored.

___Welcome

Welcome to FullMetal
Alchemist/Hagane No
Renkinjutsushi/Hagaren
manga thread!

___Summary

Imagine a world in which alchemy is not only possible, but also used frequently. Alchemy, though, is a science, and with all sciences, there are laws that must be followed... Welcome to the manga, FullMetal Alchemist (Hagane No Renkinjutsushi, Hagaren).

The story begins with two brothers, Alphonse (Bottom) and Edward (Top) Elric. Ever since they were young, they had practiced the science of alchemy. Their father was a well-recognized alchemist, which is probably where their knack for it comes from. However, when they were young, their father left, and they remained in the care of their mother. One day, their mother died, and in their innocence and ignorance, they attempted what was forbidden: Human alchemy.

What happened next, they were obviously not prepared for, and in the aftermath, the brothers lost more than just their mother. In their failed transmutation, Alphonse lost his body, and in a moment of panic, Edward transmuted his brother's soul to a piece of armor. Edward himself lost an arm and a leg, a costly reminder of what had happened.

The story begins and details the brothers' journey to find the Philosopher's Stone so that they can return to their normal bodies. You follow their journey of being alchemists and their quest to regain that which they have lost.

___Guidelines

Here are a few
guidelines for posting
in this thread:

  • Don't be shy. Yes, this may be a big thread, but that doesn't mean that we will bite. If you have a question about the manga, feel free to post it. Either I or one of the regulars will help you out, if we can.
  • No flaming!
  • No spam and/or advertising for other threads.
  • Please try and stay on topic. Some off topic discussion is fine, but please try and keep it to a minimum.

Don't know what to post, but you want to be a part of the thread? Make an introduction post like this one:

Teh dork, Wolf
Hello. I am a big fan of the Full metal alchemist manga, my favorite character is Ed. His outgoing personality and determination is a great inspiration and helped me get hooked on this manga.
My favorite sin is Lust, she is hot wicked and calculating. I always seem to lose some IQ points when ever I look at her. heart _ heart
I hope that I can have many great conversations with you all and become part of the FMA family. xd

Who published the FMA manga?

I don't think its published yet! you have to read it online linkyness

Yay! *discos* I'm so glad you made a FMA thread wolfie-chan whee I Love FMA so much! I'm glad you liked it 3nodding

Just one thing. Human alchemy isnt really forbidden, its just in alchemy to make something you have to give something. And they didn't give anything so the secret art caused al and ed to lose something equal without the effect. (getting there mom back.

Everybody who knows me forget everything ive said or done before september 20 2004 7:20

No it clearly states in the manga that human alchemy is forbidden! thats why they keep calling them selves sinners and what not xp

fullmetal alchemist is my favourite too. heart

As for human alchemy, of course it must be forbidden. No one talks about it, and even so it is always in a hush hush manner. Thats why it is so hard for Eric to get his hand on any useful information
