have you managed to read any of the translated chapters from the light novels yet? there are some fantranslations of them out if you know where to look or how to use google. I haven't read much of them yet myself because of my anime/manga/book backlog is freakin' huge but I assume that since that's the original and both the anime and manga are adapted from that it would be the best version.

well, the novel is ahead of both the anime and the manga adaptions and most people do consider the original version the best. the manga isn't much further than the anime, if that, since it started a little before the anime did and only gets one chapter per month, but I've heard its a really good adaption of the light novels. but really, if you want to know what happens after the anime ends your best bet is the light novels. they're up to the double digits and if you google a bit you can find many of them translated (sadly there's some gaps, tho, as only 1, 4, 5, 6, and 9 are completely translated with some random chapters from other volumes also translated).

does anyone recommend reading the manga? i've only watched the anime which is pretty good...but what is better?
