Exactly. Those writers didn't bother to check with Kubo if the appearance of a Zanpukto spirit changes whether or not its in Shikai or Bankai state.

At the same time you can't expect them to show things that weren't even in the manga yet. I mean they made that mistake with Naruto and "Raiga" fiasco, forcing Kishi to create a character with that type of weapon. I think that waiting for the manga to debut any new information is better for us as well as the writers all around.

I don't really watch or read Naruto, so I don't know about that whole fiasco. Though, I suppose it's also Kubo's fault, since I remember reading somewhere that he instructed them on the spirits' designs.

As for zanpakuto changing looks from shikai to bankai, the honest answer is that we don't really know given we've only seen the manga forms of 3 zanpakuto, if memory serves: Zangetsu, (of course), Zabimaru, (which is actually kinda cool; I don't know how I can like the spirit and not the sword), and Hyourinmaru. Out of the myriad number of shinigami swords, we've only seen three; kinda makes you wonder what the rest of them look like. Hmm, this could make a great poll question, hint hint Seliece.

But back to the point, I'd reckon that the spirits don't change form given nothing more than Ichigo's sustained number of shinigami abnormalities. I mean, the guy is not what you'd define a shinigami as, nor should (you want to) use him as a model thereof.

I don't know how or why mangaka take cues from the anime when they don't write for it.

The fillers are a bit frustrating to me since they don't follow the original plot. no duh miss obvious
I guess it might also just an instinct to feel more comfortable reading Bleach rather than watching it since I've become more used to it.

I've spent the day struggling through crazy English homework and my mind is kind of scrambled at the moment. All I could get from this current discussion is that it's about Zangetsu. My opinion/fact: Goth hobo is still the best description of Zangetsu, and he prolly does change into that baby face form every time he becomes Tensa Zangetsu; it's not a permanent change. Also, I don't think he will have a new look next time we see him.

I'm sorta the same; I mean, I just don't watch the anime anymore because I just don't watch it. The new releases for the longest have been fillers, the very episodes that got me out of the rhythm of watching the anime wholeheartedly back in '09. And the episodes that air on adult swim are old news to me.


Boy I tell you what, the questions on the characters' individual question page on the bleach wikia are enough to bring a smile to anyone's face and day. I went to one with my friend who's totally new to it and we had a got a kick outta this really dumb question: "does Rengi beat Espada number 8 Stark?" rofl Boy I swear that people purposefully sit there and concoct dumb questions knowing the answer full well.

Seriously, if you're ever feeling down, just visit that list of character quesitons page and you're day will turn around 3nodding

The whole reason I was there in the first place was to look at more dumb questions after having my fill of them on a "Strongest Espada-Based on Facts and Quotes" hosted by Mangafox's Bleach thread. Apparently the posters there by and large think that Mr. Schiffer, and not Mr. Stark, is the strongest Espada, as many as 53.57%.

As for your question, Artiistic, that very much seems to be the case. Here's a sample of the very dumb questions people ask:

1) Are Stark, Ulquiorra, Zommari, Aaronierro, and Yammy the only Espada who don't have Fraccion?

2) Is Kenpachi the strongest captain?

3) If Kenpachi got bankai, could he be the Captain-Commander?

4) Did Ichigo ever fight Byakuya?

5) Do Renji and Rukia know each other?

I swear when I see questions like the last three I am almost certain that those are just people who know the series but just sit around making up knowingly dumb questions. The elements of the question are just to intertwined to not be known, e.g. they asked whether Renji knew Rukia, not Tatsuki or Keigo, you know? I swear it's just a bunch of fans like us just making questions they know the answer to.
