What was the point of those new characters, the shinigami, that appeared? They are going to most likely die anyway, and the worst part is, nobody will feel bad for them unlike with Kira. What a waste of time. Must have taken a while to make up their names and zanpakto names. xp

though I wouldn't go so far as to say that simplicity and elegance are that commonly used together.

I think it's possible your expectations for things have probably rose over the years. It should be obvious Bleach is a full-on battle series, so of course, most of the abilities are geared more towards being straightforward and whatnot. This is very apparent since Bleach's inspiration partially came from the old anime series Saint Seiya, where a lot of the characters had destructive techniques but nothing useful outside of fights. I came to understand that I should just enjoy Bleach as it was, a sword-fighting fantasy series. Other than that, if I wanted to read about imaginative and creative powers used in interesting ways, I'd go read things like Naruto (to a degree) or more accurate with the standards, JJBA. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions, and your's is of no difference, so I don't mind. XD

Pity, that.

I like the ones that are useful outside of battle too. Kinda makes me think of how they pick fun at Hitsugaya and get him to make ice for them.

I do read Naruto. I love all the jutsu and how some of them are so...not interchangeable.. I can't think of the word now.. but they are versatile.. .. It's not all just smashing things. They can use them for hunting, building, landscaping even. XD

I used the phrase "looks good" alot.. but what it really kept making me think of was InuYasha's Windscar.. it really just knocked things down before the power ups. and was used so often. We need something like a Swiss Army knife of Zanpakutou. There would still be that core theme, but there would be an actual reason to go to the next release aside from being able to put more "umpf" behind it.

It's all good CJ. You are trying to bring up some very valid points into play. It all depends on how Kubo will unfold it from here on in. In other news, I do like the recent turn of events Kubo's trying to set up, even though it's still slow-paced as usual.

That may be the case. I'm just trying to think of why they seem so invested in holding Ichigo off. Since he's an actual real person that can use shinigami powers, he's potentially the only person that cannot be affected by the Reishi control. But as you said that might not matter since he has actually left his body. He might be just as susceptible as any other shinigami who's body is made solely from reishi. I guess we won't know until some time goes by.

I won't go far as to say there's shinigami level of power. More accurate I thought was Captain-level strength. Also, I'm afraid I'm going to have to debunk that theory of your's, CJ. As you can see here, Ichigo left his physical body to enter into his shinigami form, so I fail to see exactly how he'll be immune to the effects of Reishi absorption.

Why do I have a sense that the Quincies don't know what the ******** their actions are causing? To me, they seem like an organization too pigheaded to realize that the way they kill Hollows is causing an imbalance. So their killing spree right now is gonna cause an imbalance, both worlds are gonna be in danger and the Quincies are all gonna be "Durr... we didn' know dat wud happen..."

But that view is backwards CJ because to use shinigami power one must have/be in a shinigami body, and a shinigami's body is made of reishi just as everything else in the great beyond. He can't hope to use spiritual power in his human body.

Well these Quincies definitely have the advantage over a shinigami, no matter how powerful. I think thats why Ichigo is the only person who has a chance against them since he has shinigami level power without a shingami body. I mean they absorb Reishi for god's sake so no matter what any of the captains do its not going to work.

Personally, my only hope is that the person Ichigo is fighting is stronger than the group that got sent to Soul Society rather than vice versa.

I like how you jump straight to Yamamoto, man. Truth be told I expect the captains to be the most help as they've always been. I, too, think Rukia is doing nothing more than running to her death, as she inadvertently when Grimmjow first showed up.
