People try to survive on the island. Circumstances seem to arise at every opportunity, terribly diminishing chance of rescue.

Island is haunted by a 'monster' and 'the Others' whom are inhabitants of the island. The Dharma Initiative were a scientific study society who all died due to an 'accident'.

There is nothing 'about the show', you just watch it and make your own interpretations of what is happening to try and piece what you find out into something that may possibly make sense. The show has a much deeper meaning than the plot, as the plot is only made to propel the story a little and make it a bit more interesting to watch. The point is about the characters, how they feel, and how you as the viewer feel. In other words, you need to look outside the box and just connect to the show and enjoy it.
