I don't need to. I live there (here?) biggrin I've been to all the places where LOTR was filmed, but it didn't really amaze me much for some reason.. Maybe its because I've lived here my entire life so I'm used to this type of landscape, but I have several photographs of the buildings that were built for the movie from before they were demolished. My cousin played an acting role as one of the Urak-Hai from the scene at Helm's Deep, so he got a chance to take photos of the different Rohirran and Gondorian buildings biggrin

Dude, AWESOME. 3nodding

Did your cousin get one of those "I survived Helm's Deep" t-shirts?

Yeah, he did get one of those shirts xD although he was one of the Urak-Hai, so technically he didn't survive it sad

Man, I heard that it was a living hell shooting that scene. Can you point out where he is in the movie?

That's amazing. It would have been a great opportunity to be apart of the movies even if it was a small part in them.

I can't, but he probably can. Yeah, it was a living hell shooting that scene.. Peter Jackson got less than 3 hours of sleep a night, and the actors had to repeat long and tedious scenes until it was in correct synchronization. If one person ******** up, they all had to repeat the scene burning_eyes
He told me that nearly every time the director yelled out "CUT" over the speakerphone during a scene, you could hear the moaning of the actors from the next valley xd

OUCH! xd That sounds like a bad experience, but I'm sure it's great to say you've done it.

Did he get to meet any of the leading actors, like Viggo Mortensen or Orlando Bloom?

He told me that he saw quite a few of the leading actors, except for ones like Elijah Woods and Christopher Lee who weren't in the scene at Helms Deep. But he didn't actually get to meet any of them. He said that him and his friend very briefly spoke to Karl Urban (played as Eomer) about a background script though. I would still have considered that quite an honor if I was there sweatdrop

Karl Urban is great. He's been in lots of good movies, and he's going to be Dr. McCoy in the new Star Trek film.

But, yes; that would have been sooo cool to talk to one of the actors.

Didn't Karl Urban also play as Vaako from The Chronicles of Riddick?

Yeah, he did. He was also in 'Doom', and 'Pathfinder'.

My best friend and I planned on going the summer of 2010 but she's had recent financial difficulties, so I'm not sure if we're still going or not. I'm hoping we'll still be able to go.

I would go.
