Just counting the trilogy my favorite is Eowyn because she's simultaneously strong as a shieldmaiden and yet also weak due to her depression and I always identified with that. But if we're counting Silmarillion too then I think the best woman hand's down is Luthien.

Arwen, Arwen, ARWEN!
She is gorgeous and lovely and everything an elf should be!

Eowyn is such a b***h for trying to break Arwen and Aragorn apart.

Nuff said.

Going by the movies, when a guy tells you he's single, you don't worry about it. In The Two Towers, she asks where the woman is whom gave him the Evenstar. He tells her she is sailing into the West. A guy tells you that he's single and you generally don't worry about breaking him and her up. Even though she should have figured that he wasn't over her, still wearing the jewel and all.

In case my tone of writing didn't express clearly that my opinion was written in a rather careless mood and that it is not at all serious accusations, I apologize.

Of course in Eowyn's point of view she did nothing wrong, but I'm not her, I'm watching the movie/reading the book and feeling deep desperation for the sake of the two lovers. emo

Eowyn. Hands down. c:
It's a little cliched but Eowyn, she's badass.
Galadriel, hands down.

"And now it comes to it at last. You will give me the One Ring freely! In place of the Dark Lord, you will set up a Queen, and I shall not be dark, but beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night. Fair as the Sea and the Sun and the snow upon the mountain...all shall love me and despair!"

...

"I pass the test."

Out of those three: Eowyn.

arwen, coz she represents woman's loyality to her love..
eowyn, coz she shows that woman is tough, too..
Galadriel. Because faced with something she has always wanted, convinced she could be the one to change it, she acknowledges her weakness, and gives up what would be unspeakably evil in her hands.

Though I do like them all.
Eowyn because she is not afraid to challenge what is the accepted norm.
Arwen because she sends her true love off to war, and risks her life in the hope that he will return alive.

But in admitting weakness, I think Galadriel finds a strength that many people never know.
