I really enjoyed the cartoon, though not as much as the book. His voice was really well done. But... elves are not decrepit old men nor are they garden gnome-esque creatures (not that I think they're all that wonderful or anything, but, yikes).

If you really like the book, I'd recommend the Annotated Hobbit. Full of great insight, and information. A lovely hardback volume for the collection~

Like, the old animated version. I could watch it 5 times in a row and not get bored with it. It's actually the first movie I remember watching, ever. I've watched it so much, I have it memorized word for word. I LOVE IT. My dad has been reading me ALL of the LOtR books pretty much since the day I was born, and the first real book I ever read was The Hobbit and I've read it and all of the other LOtR books at least 8 times...

I love the new LOtR movies, they're amazing... But for some reason, I like to watch the animated versions more for some reason... I know... I'm odd... Haha.

But seriously, who loves The Hobbit as much as me?

hobbits are really cool the way they are in the books and movies show them as little creatures that are good and innocent thats why i lov em so much

I have read every J.R.R. Tolkien book and have watched every movie except the animated one xd I REALLY enjoy LOTR!!

I'm just reading the Hobbit right now. I just got to the part where Bilbo escaped Gollum with the ring, lol. I know I'm not far, but believe in me and it'll be a finished book within a few hours.

I read it atleast once EVERY year.

Oh yeah, I remember checking it out from the library and watching it. Only, it was ages ago, so I don't remember it that well. Maybe I should go look on YouTube, seeing as I love the book and the computer game already.

I like the Hobbit the best out of all of Tolkien's work except maybe The Silmarillion. but anyways i like how it's just a casual, humorous adventure story
