Alexei Nemov - granted, it's been eight years since he was in a competition, but he was one of the best. Currently, I am torn between Lisa Nordén (a countrywoman) who was soooo close to winning the triathlon, and then there's quite a few others who I can't think of right now. Rosengren and Eurén comes to mind, both doing much better than anticipated.
And Epke Zonderland, after his performance today. The guy's incredible.
All the time I watched her compete she looked fantastic. She took the hurdles like she was the master (and clearly was to get a new WR) and despite hitting the bars a few times in the high jump she got back on her feet and her smile was never earased. She looked so focused and so professional in all of her events. She was so confident that she was going to get gold and had an aim of achieving 7,000 points. I can't say anything bad about her.
