My friend and I were hanging out at the bowling alley. A woman I found to be rather good looking walked up to us with her friend, equally attractive, and did the usual teenage flirting. These girls looked like they just came in from working the corner. My friend knew them and he seemed to be hitting on one of them so I thought nothing of it, many teenage girls seem to dress like this now a days I guess.
When they left I asked him if they were Seniors like us and he laughed at me and told me they were only in 7th grade. This is only one incident but when I took a closer look at the kids that went to the middle school I noticed that they all dressed in a some what dirty way.
Low cut tops, very short shorts, and other clothing of the such.
I'm curious if it's just a fad around where I live or if the younger generation has taken on a "whore like" manner.
Thoughts?

Sexual repression sucks, dude. Whose side are you even on, anyway?

It's true. It continually got worse and worse as I went on through middle school/ high school. Dress codes were generally disregarded. I remember a few times that our principal in high school foolishly attempted to enforce said codes. Not only did he have angry parents come storming into his office to tell him off but even some of the teachers went against him. Made it into one big joke pretty much. He gave up after that.

The best time of the year for it was spirit week. (which fell during halloween.) Especially on costume day. Some of those girls might as well have been butt naked. I remember one year (I think it was sophomore) one of the "popular" girl's in my class came dressed as a flight attendant for the mile high club (she had the heels and everything.) One of the teachers asked her about it and she and several other girls began to complain saying that this was the only day they were allowed to "express themselves." emotion_facepalm I have no idea what happened to them. But i'll be damned if they haven't been slapped with a shitty reputation for the stuff that they chose to wear. Some of the boys got in on it too. I remember one of them dressing up as an Indian. Had nothing on but a loincloth on at one point. The principal made him put on pants but he refused a shirt. He ended up calling security on the kid XD.

But yeah, this is nothing new. Girls are being taught that in order to look attractive/ be accepted they have to show off as much of their skin as possible and boys are being taught that they should then go for the women with the least amount of clothing. Education doesn't really matter anymore.

OMG.

KILL THE YOUNGER GENERATION.

MEN ARE WHORES.

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD.

Yeah, it's like that around here too, all the way in Hawaii. Seriously, if guys wanted to see that there is always the internet. Smh

it's no better than guys walking around with underwear hanging out and you don't see as many complaints about those. If you don't like it, it doesn't mean you have the right to force it on other people. Personally, I don't dress like that, but I also don't really care about the general population that does a whole lot more things that I do not do. If they behave whorelike whilst wearing that clothing, than that's another concept altogether. I don't like people that can't understand why humans are different than all the other animals.

I agree about the whole media pushing it into their brains things. Plus a lot of the time younger girls, and really older ones as well will wear whatever will get most of the male attention.

I live in B.C Canada myself, and its not really that bad here but you can tell there are a lot of younger girls that wear those tiny little shorts or skirts with a top that always seems to draw more attention to their chests, but really not everyone like that.

Im 16, female, and I wear sweet lolita clothing that doesnt even know the meaning of 'sexy' or 'whorish' just cute, and I love it

I dont think clothes have anything to do with being a whore. There have been whores since the start and i doubt girls are riding anymore these days than they ever have been just people are more open about it. Anyway... why do you care how other people act?

People should be allowed to wear whatever the hell they like without getting crap for it. There's nothing inappropriate about short shorts and a tanktop, especially in the middle of summer. If a guy walks around topless, does that make him a whore?

How about you stop assuming that just because a girl shows skin, she's open for business?

People should, but they don't. They never will.
The problem with it was that it wasn't the middle of summer, it was the middle of winter. Are you telling me that the point of wearing clothes like that in that time of year wasn't simply to show off as much skin as possible?

I don't assume that. I am only noting that women now a days dress in little clothing. I remember a time when schools enforced dress codes and mothers wouldn't let pre-teens out in public with clothing of the such. I'm more or less just seeing other peoples take on the matter, as I can argue both sides.

Exactly. It's no better then men walking around in underwear. I've only seen one man walk aroudn in his underwear in public and the cops escorted him away.
I'm not enforcing anything, just stating what I've noticed.
I don't care what people wear, I'm just shocked at the age in which society finds it ok for girls to wear fishnets, booty shorts, and clevage tops.

It doesn't matter what the point was.

not hanging out that way. hanging out like "i'm available prison style" hanging out. better hope that one doesn't catch on with the ladies or you'd be going ballistic

Lonely Friend

It's fairly normal...

Try to understand, the generations above us thought the exact same thing about us. wink

Dapper Dabbler

Don't let clothes define a person as a whole ahaha.

But I can see where you're coming from. In grade 7, my style was absolutely... well, non-existent I suppose? lmao. Old Navy t-shirts everydayyy, matching sweaters and sweatpants, ******** gross a** hand me downs from my BROTHER... I guess it's cool that younger generations are breaking that unattractive look but I don't knooooow. In today's society, dressing the way they do is seen as slutty and dirty and just disrespectful to their young bodies.

As long as our younger counterparts have respect for themselves and respect for others, it doesn't really matter how they dress.

Judging someone's level of promiscuity based solely on their appearance/choice of clothing in particular, is ignorant.
Styles certainly have changed, however, that much I do agree with. Although I grew up in the 90's, there are some considerably noticeable changes i have seen. Hemlines got shorter, pants got tighter/lower, tops became lower-cut, and clothing is more fitted in general now. Here is what I think happens- girls in the younger grades happen to notice older girls/women dressing in a slightly sexier manner, and they want to try it. This is a time when the body is going to begin maturing for some girls, and they will begin seeing themselves in a different light. Does this make them a slut? No.

Oh my god. Sooooo many people wear their shorts/pants like that. I already am going ballistic over that. It's not just men that wear pants like that, I've seen plenty women that do as well.
