I work in the core of downtown Toronto so while we don't get armed robberies we have a lot of thieves. People will just run in the store, grab a stack of $100 jeans and run out.

Do they ever get the wrong size?

Never

So they know their measurements and where that size is before dashing?

My bf was at a 7-11 and saw his friend get shot in the head with a shotgun while the place was being robbed.

Yep! Although they just distracted me while they stole the merchandise. However, the store I worked at got robbed often, and many of my coworkers were held up at gun point.

like you're working a cashier in some random grocery store and a dude with a shot gun swoops in and threatens to blow your head off unless you give him the money

I worked as a cashier in a grocery store in the ghetto,the store was called Save A Lot and it was seriously right in the middle of the poorest part of my city. Every day until I quit I feared this scenario... thankfully it never happened.

I also worked at Family Dollar, too. I think that was even shadier than Save A Lot.

When I worked at a grocery store, I was the cashier.
It was around 10pm, we had 3 cashes open, the cashier next to me, a man came with a mask on and said he had a gun, we didn't see the gun but we weren't going ot argue so we opened the till and gave him everything in our tills. The stores insurance covered it and we eventually caught the guy.

Oh God, I think about that happening every time I'm at work (I work at a drug store). I'm so scared that it will happen, I'm always on high alert when someone creepy/sketchy looking comes in and doesn't buy anything, or comes right up to the counter.

No. I know a guy who was held at gunpoint working at a gas station near Halifax though.
