For those with IBD. I know this is a gross vid, but they mention a posible CURE with parrisites. I am curious to see how this works out. I don't exist...

Wow that's pretty interesting yet gross indeed x) how'd you find it
Chance honestly. I love D news because they provide an interesting varity of topics in short blips. I think the week's theme was poop which was odd yet interesting. Not that they do themes. I did not catch it at first but went back and listened and he did say Ulcerative Colitis so I cheered and had to share! mrgreen

You might have an issue with caffeine and your gut. If you are concerned and want to check it out. Try a peppermint tea. It is stomach calming and should let you know if the caffeine is the issue. If the tea gives you issues, you may want to talk to your GP. Take our advice for what it is worth. Most of us are not in the field of medicine.
Good to see something like this up and running! I find that this is really a great thing to have!

I have a hemorrhaged lower esophageal sphincter. Basically meaning that the opening to my stomach isn't entirely reliable or holds food. Therefore, I can really only eat 1/4 of an actual serving meal. Anything over that will cause me to be nauseous and/or vomit without much notice.

It started off with us thinking that I was lactose intolerant. While I do have a milk allergy (different than being lactose intolerant), it does not explain the reason why even eating normally/healthily promoted even more vomiting.

Through different tests and different scopes/ultrasounds/testing, we later found that the opening to my stomach -- essentially all of it, is hemorrhaged. My current gastro specialist believes there are only 4 separate hemorrhages -- while I've heard through my testing anything between 2 and 7.

Surgery is an option, and truly the only real fix of ridding the extra tissue; however, it's extensive and revolves around a huge recovery process including a large-time-lapse of a liquid-only diet. Also, there is no tell if the hemorrhaging will return again after some time.

As stubborn as I am, I love my food. Even if I can only eat a portion of it, I know myself all too well that I cannot discipline myself enough to strictly stay to all-liquids, nor am I in a point of my life where I could see myself juicing/ect and living that lifestyle.

So I eat my three square meals a day, but I eat about 10-15 times a day. About once every hour, a small portion of a meal, and continue throughout the day. It's been a burden sometimes, especially when going out to eat with friends. And sometimes rather embarrassing if I eat too much -- (Many people believe I was bulimic before I disclosed my health issues). But for the most part, I'm working on it and I'm going to control it with portion cut-downs until I'm in a situation where juicing/liquid diets are due able. (I have a lot of traveling plans and a lot of vacation plans in the next 5-7 years that this special diet is just not due able). The Dr said I could range, in recovery, from 6 weeks of a liquid diet, to 6 months. It depends on how I recover and if there are any complications. Or any excess hemorrhaging that happens while healing.

God that sucks. I am in the process of preping for a colonoscopy tomorrow (I am a UC patient and this happens yearly for me.) and I am bitching about not being able to eat. I too love my food. Glad you were able to find a way to cope and not have to go through with a fix that could knock you out for a while!

I was diagnosed with H pylori when I was in middle school, years ago. I never finished the medication, but I also haven't been diagnosed with it since.. However, I have been dealing with GERD for a long time. I'm wondering if those two are related in anyway? Does anyone know?

I am usually complaining about my stomach being upset, but I was told it has a lot to do with anxiety. >.<
