What's the worst thing that ever happened to you?

Probably this entire year. Four dead friends, a girlfriend in the Navy who won't be back for four years at least if she comes back at all or still wants me, the fact that after I graduated from high school all of my friends just sort of disappeared, and once two of them wound up covering like three trees in their insides after a street-racing accident the grief made me lose focus on my work, my grades slipped and I dropped out of college before my first semester was even finished. Now I'm at home, working a dead-end part-time job on weekends for roughly three hours a week, and the only human contact I have is either with little kids or old people.

I'm considering suicide; any ideas?

This is going to sound cheesy.

But the worst thing that happened to me was my first and only love breaking up with me. We went out for over a year, and I gave him all of my heart. He broke it into pieces, and that left me devastated and stuck in a slow recovery mode for half of my Senior year. Ruined it.

Think about what you enjoy, what you like to do, your favorite things and just pursue them. And try to find new peace within yourself with those ambitions or hobbies. Please don't commit suicide. I'm sure your friends wouldn't have wanted that.

Hrm.. worst thing that ever happened to me? Well I got two
First is the decision I made to start skipping school in middle school. (pretty much went downhill because of that)
and the second is my stepdad marrying my mom =.=

Oh; I had stuff I liked to do. I was studying to be a genetic engineer. Funny thing, though; you need a college degree for that. Guess who dropped out, lost the scholarships that were getting him anywhere, and has a brother who's still in college and thus making it impossible for me to get the funds to go back out of pocket?

And if my friends really cared, they'd actually respond to my texts, or something.

So, again; do you have any suggestions on a way for me to just get out of this?

Committing suicide is never the answer.
you seem to have had a really hard time losing people close to you. It might be hard to ever allow more people into your life again, but don't give up!! Maybe you should talk to some family. Or get some professional help. But definitively talk to people about it. Don't keep quiet. There are several people who would care for and understand you.
Why? Because they know what it is like.
You are not the only one. You are not alone in your sorrow
And as for suggestions to get you out of that situation.. persistence! If you're determined to go back to school, work at it! even if it takes 5 years. 10 years. Even if you're in your 50s, don't give up.
I've read that when you get older you start realizing all the things you've missed out on. Live til you're old!! Find inspiration.

You can always continue your education at a community college. Until then, go somewhere you like-- book store, park, cafe-- and strike up a conversation with someone. Who knows, you may make a new friend.

I would talk this out in the Life Issues subforum. There is really good advice and support there. Hang in there. The fact that you're asking for some help is a good sign.

The worst thing that's ever happened to me, strangely enough, wasn't actually a sad thing. It was just extremely embarrassing. When I was seven, I wanted to see what naked people looked like, so I typed in stuff like naked.com and a bunch of porn sites popped up. I had no idea what they were doing in those videos. lol

But one day my mom caught me watching them after a virus somehow managed to get into the computer from the various porn sites that I'd visited. Part of me understood that what I was doing was wrong, so that's why I felt super guilty about it, but at the same time, I didn't know exactly what I was seeing, lol
